I Think I Done Chipped My Favourite Tooth

Our latest model for Patron Picks was everyone's favourite Cajun firefly, Ray! chosen by Aleia. This has been one of my favourite sculpts to date, he's such a fun character and definitely the bravest model I've attempted so far, but thankfully he printed looking awesome and I'm really happy to add Ray to our collection.

To paint my model I started with a base coat of Valejo paints followed by a topcoat of Arteza metallics. I mixed Escorpena Green with White for Ray's head, arms and legs and then added a top coat of Pastel Green. For his bulb I used Sunflower Yellow mixed with white with a topcoat of Golden Hour and Valejo Polished Gold for the patterns. For his waistcoat, toes and eyelids I mixed a drop of Mahagony with Green with a top coat of Olive Green and Chartreuse for the patterns. Finally for his hair and caterpillar I used Orange with a top coat of Tangerine.

I'm so excited to make the rest of the Princess and the Frog characters for the music scene, I already have their poses in mind and I think they're going to look awesome together as well as on their own, they'll all be out on the page sometime throughout next year.

I could honestly dedicate an entire month to Dr.Facilier I have so many ideas for extras, but for now we'll have the Shadow Man cupcake jar, out next!
