The ornamental version is now all finished and will be up on the page shortly, I underestimate how long these things take sometimes but the models came out looking awesome and had some really nice areas to break up the patterns. I'm printing my version at 24 cm tall so she'll be quite big and I'm definitely going to try and get some work in progress pics of the printed model whether I post them on Instagram and discord or here either way I'm really excited to make this one!
Which concludes this post! I'll have some pre-supported versions of her out later today for those who want to print her massive, but otherwise as always thanks for subscribing and I'll see you in the next post!

The scaled version of the dragon is now finished and will be up in about an hour. I chose a subtle look for the scales which I think works better with her being a cartoon dragon, realistic scales would just look weird. I flattened off the bottom of her feet this time as well which is something I totally forgot to do with the clean version so I've also updated the clean file to one that should now balance. Sorry for any inconvenience, we'll put that down to me being a little out of practice.

The model is finally all finished! this one was hard work but totally worth it in the end I'm really happy with the final model and I think our first dragon is going to make a really great addition to the character collection. In addition to the usual 2 versions I'm also going to try and make a version with scales if I have the time, the clean version will be out in the morning followed by the patterned version in the next couple of days but I'll keep this post updated as I go. I'm also going to be making a pre-sliced version of the dragon for those wanting to print it large scale, which will be out in a few days.

This will be a really big print so for the pose I wanted to have her stood up on her hind legs for balance. In the film she has tiny wings and a huge body, so I was a little worried she'd end up on the chunky side due to her weird proportions, I'm pretty happy with it up to now though, she looks pretty hench from the side view which was what I was aiming for. Now it's onto my favourite stage, refining the model and adding in all the final details!

The dragon is quite distinctive so I tried to focus on the parts of the head that make her recognisable like her long face, her face wings and her horns which are definitely my favourite feature. I wanted to leave room to potentially add in some fire later on but I'm quite happy with how the head has turned out up to now so onto sculpting the body!
