One of my favorites - and it just became one year old - worth a redraw?
There were a lot of things that bothered me ion the old version. that's why I decided it. Also, one year (or half a year from the last redraw) and I was excited to see my progress. which.... isn't really much this time?
Since there were only minor changes, I actually traced a lot of the old Linework - The Hands were the things that I changed the most I guess. After I finished, I wasn't really seeing much improvement, but I spent quite a bit on rework already, so I got a little discouraged. And this didn't get any better with the coloring... only pretty much at the end I was able to actually see differences. I guess there's still some things that bother me, but I also think, that this really reflects my current skill!
What do you think? Was it worth it? Which version do you like better?

That's actually so interesting! 1) Touya has them in the old version too, but because of the overlay, they look super muddy - it bothered me 2) You interpreted my intention 100% right and the fact that the light wasn't as bright - bothered me 3) Actually a nice side effect, but the overall light levels bothered me tremendously in the old version. It's too bright or too colorful in places where it shouldn't be. As the light is coming from above, his head and Dabis hands must be the most bright areas (and Touyas forearm) Endeavors hands (and the skin of all three in general) look super glossy in the old version which I hated. I tried to recreate the blue shimmer though - but it was too distracting/didn't make a lot of sense shadow wise. So what I am trying to say: THANK YOU Your obversation makes me so happy because people notice the things I took extra care of AND read the symbolism like I intended. Honestly, that's actually the best feeling when drawing more abstract stuff!
