This month's sequence was a definite challenge! I have never in my life drawn a seal until this week. Wonder how that happened...
The story:
They were quite mad, of course. Deeply noble intentions at first to be sure, but still quite, quite mad.
They'd perfected the nanotechnology to transform living matter into another form. First mice into squirrels. Cats into dogs but, then humans into animals. So many humans went into the chamber. Vagrants. Craigslist loners. Used car purchasers. Tinder hopefuls.
So many humans went in.
So many animals came out.
After a while, they forgot their original purpose. It may have been for re-growing limbs. But, once they began transforming people, it became rather an addiction. They'd never had so much fun, the told each other.
Then, they decided to make it lucrative. They'd needed to do something with the animals they'd made and the exotic pet market seemed the perfect solution. Rich people with odd tastes and a habit of not asking questions while paying great gobs of money for odd animals became their bread and butter.
Then, on a whim, a glimmer of something resembling sanity flashed in their addled brains. They'd do good! They'd replenish dying species! Humans went in, fertile females came out.
Of course, some would go to aquariums and zoos. There were bills to pay, after all. But, what to start with?
Then, as they were perusing a book called Pinnapeds of the World, there was a knock at the door. Ah! That must be their pizza! Won't he be surprised at the reception...
