Vote for the next tutorial

Below you can find a list of ideas that I have for the next video tutorial. I'm going to do all of them at some point, but I want to give you the chance of choosing the very next one.
- Redshift episode 03: Next episode of our "Introduction to Redshift" series. It would be all about shading and textures in Redshift. Explaining the basics of the shading system and doing a few look-dev exercises with different production-ish assets.
- Lighting a full cg shot: This tutorial would be about look-deving, lighting and rendering a full cg environment in Arnold and Houdini. Everything from scratch, so you can see the whole process of using Houdini as scene assembly and my workflow for lighting full cg shots.
- Scan to render: This would be a very useful tutorial for all of you working on visual effects characters. I would go through the whole pipeline to convert a 3D scan of an actor into a production render model. No grooming, we can do that in another time, but we could cover acquisition methods, scan clean up, retopology, maps extraction, texturing, lookDev, etc.
- Clarisse scatterers episode 02: Second and final episode covering scatterers and constraints in Clarisse. We cover some features and did some cool exercises in episode 01 but there is still quite a lot to be covered and more exercises to do.
The first three topics might need more than one video tutorial.
Again, I will cover all of these tutorials sooner or later but is up to you to choose the next one to be published.
Thanks,
Xuan.

Sure, sounds like a good one. I will have to plan for this one as I'm not an fx artist.

2019-08-06 14:36:01 +0000 UTCThanks for sharing your knowledge with us. I would love to see a tutorial on rendering FX sims in Katana, like more Houdini + katana intergration tutorials like exporting vdb caches rendering them in katana using volumetric shaders. Setting up some render Matte IDS based on Prim vars. Considering many studios are moving towards this hybrid pipeline setups as tutorial on such topic would be nice.
