After posting the previous video, Lighting a full CG shot in Houdini part 02, some of you asked me how to setup ACES in Mari. It is actually very simple. Just enable OCIO in the preferences and set it to ACES. If you get an ocio.config file from the production you can select it there, otherwise Mari already comes with the standard ACES config.
Then make sure you are displaying the color transformation in the viewport intended for your production, rec709, rec2020, DCI-P3, etc. And finally double check you are exporting 16 bits .EXR ACEScg
