LAZARUS: Fallen - Youngblood variant (final cover)

This is getting announced today and so I don’t mind dropping it a tiny bit early for my lovely and loyal patrons! ☺️☺️☺️

This is the final version of the Lazarus: Fallen cover I did for Image comics, including the character Forever Carlyle, as well as the character Vogue from Youngblood. If you notice, it is substantially different than the earlier version I posted last week-ish; when asked what I really wanted to do, I actually had no ideas, because I don’t know anything about Youngblood; that said, I DID learn that Vogue is a cosmetics CEO. Couple that with her name, and I found a completely reasonable entryway into doing a high-fashion, Vogue-esque magazine style-comic cover, and I am SO happy that everyone obliged me! And not only did they oblige me, but they actually pushed me to do more leather than I had even intended (my original layout, shown below, has Vogue in Latex but Forever in a chic black suit, just because I didn’t imagine they would want her in leather; boy howdy was I wrong! They just kept being like, “Bring on the leather!” Hahaha)

The outfits: Vogue’s outfit is pulled from a Kylie Jenner cover of Vogue Hong Kong, where she wears this latex dress/trench thing? I dunno, but I always thought it was fucking gorgeous. And Forever’s look was inspired by the Moschino Spring 2018 show, though with plenty of differences for the sake of what her character might actually wear (we made sure to put her in pants, which I think was the right move).

And then they did the cover font exactly like I wanted, too, including the extra words added in there. So really, this cover was like 100% conceptually mine, and it came out EXACTLY as I intended. I am so fucking grateful!

And so - YEAH! This might be my favorite cover I have done! I hope you all like it! ☺️☺️☺️
