Wow, this took some effing time. I never really know which route I am going to take when it come to texturizing backgrounds. Sometimes it's what I call the "volleyball technique," where three lines intersect with three other lines going a different direction, thus producing a pattern, and space! But this time I just went with deep stippling, because the line weights I used were smaller than usual (for the most part; stuck primarily with the 02 and the 005 microns, and then used the 03 super sparingly). Some of the initial inks version annoyed me because it felt so...empty. So like the last two panels I thought were originally p boring, but now I like them a lot more.

This comic comes from an idea that I have had for a long time of the dying patriarch from whom every extended family member wants money. It was going to be a son, but I changed it to a daughter because I just really wanted it to be about a girl.

TBH, the initial idea was that there was gonna be this cool biker chick who the dad had a thing with, but I was like, nah, whatevs, I'll make it about a cool punk daughter, instead, who has been away from the family for a long time, but who now must protect her family's assets. I don't know anything about money, so I have no idea where this narrative would go - I actually want it to go supernatural, breaking barriers in space-time, but then I always want that! For right now, I just like this cool one-pager. Maybe one day I will make a longer comic! Haha. :(
