Gertrude

So Gertrude is a character that I keep drawing every now and again, and tbh I have much more of her narrative developed than I do Anaïs’, but I think I am so obsessed with Anaïs that I HAVE to make her book first lmao. In any case, Gertrude is really important to me. I first drew her in 2020 during a month-long mental health break from work (I was working at a grocery store during the pandemic at the time), along with a bunch of other characters, but she was the one who really stuck around. I would try new rendering techniques on her outfits to try to better teach myself how to color. It kind of occupied my brain at a time when I could not get myself to draw much else, and so that was nice!

Gertrude is a hypersexual, bisexual vampire demon (so a demon who was bitten by a vampire) who is super popular all over the world (she even has admirers in the religious community, as she proved the reality of heaven and hell, thus bringing people to their congregations in droves). She doesn’t suck people’s blood because she doesn’t want to, but people line up at blood banks to donate blood specifically to her so she doesn’t have to. She also has tons of women fan-clubs begging her to turn them into super sexual babes like her (to which she doesn’t oblige).

Does she have haters? Yeah, I think the Devil is mad at her because she abandoned her task on Earth for fame and fortune (and made so many believe in God and get righteous haha). God doesn’t like her because she causes so many deranged cases of lust that, for every new person brought to him through church, like ten more are crankin’ their bean to this demon. So… yeah! Lmao

One day I hope to tell her story - I think it would be a really good one, if I could get myself going on it! 😭😭😭 ONE DAY!!!!!
