SPARTAN LASER UPDATE!!!
Added 2022-08-19 13:19:53 +0000 UTCHELLO EVERYONE!!!! today I have an update on the Spartan laser!!! the test print is 80% complete and has gone well :D the parts have fitted better than I was expecting and the new frame design is so much stronger than I had expected!! wooohooo! :D on the electronics side things have not gone so well hahaha, this model is so insane that Arduino's are not powerful enough to run all the features of this model!!! yup, I can't believe it hahaha.
so have been on the hunt for a new microcontroller powerful enough for the job and found the raspberry pie pico, an awesome controller around the same size as an Arduino nano but is around 10 times faster and runs on a much more compatible coding language for what this project needs :D
now the problem with this change has been, we are basically starting from scratch, the code has to be completely built from the ground up in a new language as everything from the wingman's code is not compatible.
this has been the main time sink on this project but it is going well, just taking more time than expected hahaha :D I tell ya this project keeps throwing curve balls hahaha
