HELLO EVERYONE today I have for you THE DAGGER OF TIME from prince of Persia!!! with the new game just coming out, I thought it would be awesome to make the dagger of time!!! Oooo and man has it turned out awesome!!! When looking at the model I new the handle had to be hollow so you can add sand into it!!! In fact I ended up using glitter in the handle and it turned out awesome XD

This one was a awesome project and I think it has turned into one of my coolest daggers!! xD

its been around for a good couple years now but it's rare to find :D true! PETG was the go-to for transparent filament and is still the better option if you need a variety of colours :D but I prefer the PLA as its so much easer to print :D

OddWorks

How new is transparent PLA filament? I had assumed that that was only an option in PETG, so thanks for filling me in on that.

ah sorry here is a link to the filament :D https://www.sunlu.com/en-gb/collections/10th-fdm-filament-sales/products/over-6kg-of-pla-pla-meta-3d-filaments-1kg-2-2lbs-fit-most-of-fdm-printer?variant=39924202504278

hay there!!! sadly splitting the glass out of the model is not possible, I originally planned to have it split as it would make painting the model a lot easier, but the handle was just too weak and ended up breaking :( I can help you there with the clear filament though :D I actually use Sunlu’s PLA Transparent(Clear) since it is PLA you don't have to worry about your settings too much :D unlike PETG, which is a lot trickier to print :D as for setting, use your PLA profile but print slower :D if you are printing at 60 mm/s, I would suggest printing at 45 mm/s :D this means the filament will be exposed to heat for a longer time and that gives it more of a glass-like appearance when printed :D

OddWorks

Can't wait to print this. But I was kinda curious if it would be hard to make a version where the glass of the handle is separate from the handle itself? I've only recently gotten into printing transparent filaments and do not believe that I could make the rest of the handle turn out as nice while trying to get the glass clear. That, or does anyone have a print setting that wouldn't take a day and a half for a large-ish print?

thank you so much :D it was a really fun model to make :D

That looks awesome!
