Changes from Aeonica Book 1 and 2

Since the first two books aren’t officially published, I still consider the entire series a work in progress. As a result, any name can change. In fact, I’ve wanted to make most of these changes since midway through Book 2  but I thought I should at least wait until I started a new book.

Eventually, I’ll go back and incorporate these changes into the next drafts of Book 1 and 2. I hope those changes aren’t too jarring in the meantime. Also, If one sounds terrible to you, don’t hesitate to say so. Like I mentioned above, everything is still a work in progress.

Ethereum is now Etherite. When I first thought of this material (way back in Book 1) I considered it a sort of metal. Over the course of Book 2, however, I’ve started to think of it as a type of crystal instead. Now I’m updating the suffix to reflect that change. This new suffix also has fewer syllables, which is a huge plus in my opinion.

Reverie is now Revera, and Reverians are now Reverans. The name “Reverie” was originally supposed to be clever since it means “daydream.” But as a continent, the word felt more distracting to me than anything else. What’s more, it lacked cohesion with the world’s other main continents (Valaysia and Palavar.)

The Divide is now the Bloodrift. For those of you who don’t remember, this is the canyon that Raidenwood is built on top of.  A few beta readers mentioned how the original name felt unimaginative (with no connection to the world) so I’m trying this name on instead.

Tara’lan is Tongshan. Again, since most people probably forgot, this is the city in Valaysia where Relyn and Rhia are from. I didn’t mind the original name, but it sounded too close to “Trelian”, and I have both words appearing in some sentences together.
