Chapter 44 Updates
Added 2023-04-30 12:55:44 +0000 UTCHi everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I wasn’t completely happy with the way Chapter 44 turned out, so I made some quick fixes:
- I re-arranged the Kalden and Akari POVs so that Kalden’s scene comes first, and the chapter ends with Akari.
- I removed all mention of the final qualifying round scores in Kalden’s POV since that slowed down the pacing.
- Most importantly, I extended Akari’s POV with a few hundred more words. I’d originally written some of this before, but decided to move it to Chapter 45 because it released too much of the tension. But now, with Akari’s POV after Kalden’s, I thought this made for a better cliffhanger than what we had before.
You can feel free to re-read the whole thing if you want, but I’m guessing most people will just want to read the new part, so I put the originally chapter ending in bold!
