Random Dead by Daylight Bullshittery

Hey there folks. So this is the finished Dead by Daylight video I was talking about. Released as early access to you with my thanks. This week I'll get cracking on another video and let you know which one it'll probably be :)

Some behind the scenes info for those interested:

• So the footage here consisted of about 5-6 games ZF played when we bought Dead by Daylight together. Predominantly the first 3 games where we really didn't know what we were doing. 

• My initial plan was to record with DXTORY. But for some reason, the number of keyframes was really off, resulting in really choppy and unsatisfying looking footage. So in the end, I went with the OBS recording. Which was blurrier, but much smoother on the frame rate. You can compare the two briefly on about 0:55, where one of the scenes had to be the DXTORY footage because the sub notification appeared a that exact moment in the OBS version. As you can see, quite rubbish. So I'm glad I made the switch.

• Initially, I was doing all of the spoken text. But I quickly released that it wasn't very satisfying to watch, as quite a lot was being said very quickly. So the eye would dart all over the screen. So instead I tried to focus only on the playeron the screen and did a lot of text following heads.

• This does however make some of the text look quite jittery as the character models are jittery. I think I went overboard in some places to be honest. But the emotion of what is being said is there.

• Also, the audio was quite difficult to get right. As people would go from quietly talking to yelling frantically quite quickly. So there was a lot of balancing work there. But it created a bit of a hybrid video, between a compilation of bullshittery moments, and a more narrative focused horror.
  

So to summarize, probably went a bit over the top with some of the text animations. But decided to go for text following players around to make it seem more interesting.
