DayZ Critique - Parts 3 and 4 revised

Good evening folks. So I've finished revisions to parts 3 and 4 of the DayZ video essay. Feedback would be appreciated if you have time?

Part 3 is a look at the available activities in the DayZ mod and the standalone. And how I feel the DayZ mod's evolution had quite a lot of legitimacy. It's probably going to be the most incendiary of all the ten parts. So I need to word it delicately.

And Part 4 is a talk about the balance between pvp and pve features. Small tweaks here from the one before. I've cut back some areas I felt scooted around the problem and just stated it frankly.

So there are some technical goofs. Particularly audio. But i can fix these later. I'm much more interested in any places where you find the points unconvincing so I can adjust my argument accordingly.

I also need to get the other parts uploaded, as I took them down previously.

Currently working on part 6, which is a look at PVE activities in survival games generally.

Comments

Part 3 was iffy at first to me due to it focusing on what mods of a mod brought to the game but I very much liked how you did come around to that issue a little later on. Thing about that though is while Rust and Ark can pull off these additions they're not running under the same game name as a mod. So were Dayz Standalone to implement the mod on mod ideas it brings up the issue of taking other peoples ideas. An example, Far Harbour for Fallout 4 was accused of taking ideas from a Fallout New Vegas mod. Part 4 was interesting, not a big PvP player so it hits as the mod took PvP as the single players boss fight. Your off doing your thing and it might be boring but oh no, tension encounter. Still loving these takes on DayZ mod compaired to standalone. Keep up the good work.

I'm with André on this. I never played it and this is making for an informative series that still is sharply edited, Womble-ly humorous, and overall well-constructed. I look forward to the other parts of the lot. P.S. Give Lulu a hug and a biscuit for my black lab and I.
