Random Holdfast Bullshittery - Update #2

Good evening folks. Just a quickie update.

The latest bullshittery is entering its second week of work, and thus far everything is going smoothly. Whilst I've not scrubbed most of the Holdfast streams, I have scrubbed enough to make good start. Since I know which highlights I really want to use for the beginning and end.

I might want to return to scrubbing in the 3rd week to bulk out the middle with fresh clips. But the overall structure is looking solid and the highlights are pouring in.

I have reached about 1 minute and 47 seconds out of planned 10 minutes of keyframing. With about 6 of the 10 minutes in place.

Can I also just express how satisfying it is to edit Holdfast. Especially coming off the back of Arma 3.

The frame-rate remains relatively consistent, meaning that fewer keyframes are required to compensate for motion. The game features no iron-sights or scopes to be masked away. And the foliage is kept close to the ground.

Additionally it has some other unique properties.

Most of uniforms are bright red (British) and bright blues (French), with white trimmings and sashes. Meaning the auto-tracking has clear and consistent points of contrast. Also many of the soldiers have feathers on their hats, or other decorations near their heads. Meaning I can generally trust the auto-tracker to reliably find their heads, rather than produce the jittering mess it usually does.

Lastly, like Rising Storm: Vietnam, it features an omnipresent ticket counter at the top of the screen, which didn't go unnoticed during the livestreams. The recording of the score at the time lets me identify the precise position of the highlight simply by moving my playhead across the footage. Allowing for extremely rapid scrubbing compared to most projects.

I am enjoying this edit. It's a welcome breath of fresh air. Thank you.
