Good afternoon folks. Just to touch bases about the latest video.
Editing is still underway and entering the 5th week now. Sorry that it's all taking so long. Thank you for being so patient with me. I will get straight back onto bullshitteries soon, I promise.
So I've completed the first phase of editing on the video, playable end-to-end. I'm now performing a lighter second phase of editing in which I fill in some missing gaps, or re-do some scenes that could be improved/better illustrated. There are a number of smaller gaps ranging from 5 seconds to 30. Dotted inconsistently across the whole timeline.
I used to pile this into the QA phase. But it feels more comfortable to do a second editing phase rather than bog down true corrections. I've reached about 22 minutes out of 40 for this phase two. And I'm hoping by the end of the week I'll be creeping into the quality assurance work, with the first handful of test renders.
So it won't be complete by the end of the week, but hopefully entering quality assurance. Hopefully next weekend completion?
Here's a quick snapshot of the timeline in Adobe Premiere. With the playhead currently around the 21-22 minute mark as I adjust things sequence-by-sequence.

The anthropomorphised game icons (shown in the gif above) are actually a lot of fun to do. I was using them to illustrate market pressures as part of an analogy about a mod evolving in response to audience choices.
I figured they'd be complicated to animate, but they really aren't. They're little more than shape layers with a "Stroke" effect. Meaning you can create fun little cartoons in only a handful of keyframes. I can see why the Youtuber Oversimplified likes them.
Additionally, that complicated sequence cut to music is featured at the end in green. That turned out to be pretty good, though I'm tempting to revoice that 2 minute bit in order to better match the tempo of the music. The existing narration is a little flat by juxtaposition now. I might do a few passes at that to find one that sounds right.
So over here I'm very much cracking on and putting the final sequences in place. At which point I'll begin proper quality assurance in the hopes of getting this biggy on the channel, with first dibs to my dear Patrons. Hope you're all okay :)
