Good evening folks. Another update on Random CSGO Bullshittery (part 9). Apart from a couple of latter distractions/whoopsies, everything is going fine here:
Monday - Thursday:
So the text and animation work is currently underway. The standard 'moving stuff to Adobe After Effects and keyframing' job. I've managed to complete about 4 minutes of 10 with the rest underway.
A screenshot of the current timeline:

Minutes 7 to 9 have intentionally been left empty so I can mix and match clips whilst the humour is still fresh to my eyes. An editing habit I've picked up. As after watching the whole thing 30-40 times, I often worry about bits being not funny. And worried me quickly turns into "cut everything" me
Granted I can only do this trick when the video is purely a clip compilation with no overarching structure (like Antistasi for example). But I think it works out. A sort of staggered cutting phase.
This week the plan is to fill in those gaps and continue keyframing the second half.
Friday:
Mind you I did end up getting somewhat distracted at the end of last week.

I found myself extremely enthused and full of ideas when it came to the writing of a potential future video-essay piece on The Isle, a dinosaur-based survival game. And figured it was better to strike whilst the iron was hot and get all of my ideas jotted down.
Specifically I was looking at how The Isle approaches the "classic" survival template, and despite using 90% of ideas we've seen before, it is able to create something interesting that has a lot of potential if imported into other games. Something not related to dinosaurs.
That creative momentum continued through Saturday and Sunday and now a draft is in pretty good shape. A little pre-production on an alternate project.

Monday (today):
Alas, the start to this week was a total headache. As over the weekend I was trying to troubleshoot some problems with my brothers PC - he has a component that's not working properly. This meant that I was taking pieces out of my older storage PC to figure out (through a process of elimination) what his problem was.
And first thing Monday morning my storage PC failed to properly boot. Meaning I must have installed a component improperly. And annoyingly, it was the PC with the CSGO footage on it.
"Piece of cake", I thought. "I'd just take out that hard drive, slap it into my main PC and continue as normal. I'll fix this later in my free time".
Did that. And then my main PC wouldn't boot. My reaction:

So after a lot of wire-pulling, swearing and coffee, I've fixed it. Took all afternoon and I hate computers and now I want a nap.
The most bizarre part, most people experience hard drive failure at some point. Today I've experienced the complete opposite - I have two additional hard drives from sources unknown.
One is probably from some cannibalised machine. But the other is a brand-new 2TB drive. One that I have no recollection of purchasing. I have no explanation for this.
Is there a tooth fairy but for hard drives or are my storage devices having babies?
Today has been annoyingly unproductive and very strange.
