Good evening folks. Once again I can only apologise for how long this project of mine is taking. We're on the 8th week and definitely in the final stages. But holy hell I'll be looking forward to getting it finished.
Thank you for being so patient with me. I appreciate it greatly. I need to do a ton of comedy stuff after this to balance things out.
Right now, the whole video is going through quality assurance work. Meaning it's edited end-to-end. And it's just a case of watching it through, making long lists of tiny fixes and then working through them in batches.
By this afternoon (second day) I was able to get through the first 10 minutes. It's about 48 minutes in total. So I'm steadily chopping through it.

As always, quality assurance is to weed out all the little things you don't notice until you watch it all through. Stuff like "that transition is too fast" or "that colour palette is off on that scene". None of it particularly interesting or sexy, it's just time consuming busy-work to make it all flow properly.
For example, I made about 60 correction notes between minutes 12 and 30 this morning. It's all very tedious.

I was able to land the conclusion script in the end. I think. I may end up ruffling some feathers, as I do make some unflattering comparisons towards some popular games. But hopefully it'll be interesting. Though I suspect not everyone will agree with my comments.
From a technical standpoint, I've also got that same problem from before, where the whole 1080p video-essay wouldn't rendering properly on my hardware. I ended up fixing it by clearing out almost everything from the SSD I'm using for Adobe's cache. I've already started that process. Fingers crossed it works again. That was a bit of a pain at the end of last year.
So for now, I'm continuing to try and make these little fixes. Replacing scenes as they might be needed. Will try to get you finished product as soon as I can.
Weirdly, I don't actually have a name for it yet. The working title is just "Video essay - The Isle". Hmmm.
