Just to quickly touch bases with you guys/gals concerning progress this week:
Blimey I'd forgotten how irritating Arma is to animate and mask. The frame-rate is so inconsistent. Could be smooth as butter in the countryside, but the moment your squad enters a town with lots of NPC's, it just chugs.
Not in a consistent way either. Meaning you have to manually compensate in the keyframing to make the text 'chug' with it. Otherwise your brain notices that the soldiers are moving sluggishly yet the text is moving smoothly, making the animation look weird and half-assed.
Anyway, the work continues. By the end of next week I should have the second half of the animation almost done and be moving into the quality assurance. And likely have a much better idea of what parts 4 & 5 look like.
