Random Antistasi Bullshittery (part 4/5) - Update #3

Good evening everybody. I hope you're having a smooth week thus far. So we're approaching the end of January and hopefully the completion of the first video for 2020.

Another update for those interested:

It's editing day 16 out a planned 20 for this project, and last week I was able to get the bulk of the keyframing complete. With only a couple of scenes missing. And I'm dipping into the quality assurance process. Having started today.

For those not familiar, this QA process involves repeatedly rendering the video and watching it through, trying to spot errors. Usually building up a big list of corrections and then going back into the relevant compositions. Before rendering once again and repeating.

It is necessarily a bit of a slow process I'm afraid. As the fixing of one thing often causes other problems.

And sometimes you watch a scene and want to add more. Or just re-do the keyframing altogether. Or just decide it's not as funny as you'd originally thought, and replace it with something else. It's all part of the editing process.

But overall I'm quite pleased with the structure. It does however need a lot of tightening to improve the pace. And the audio balance is all over the shop.

This part 4/5 of Arma 3 highlights:

The conclusion of this project leaves just part 5. And I'm excited to do the finale gag, which I won't mention here :) Adding this whole thing to an Antistasi playlist on the channel.

In other news...

After this video I would very much like to return to a side-project for a bit if you're okay with it? Maybe spend a bit more time on the D&D cartoon?

Over the weekend, purely for my own amusement, I was unpacking the latest assets (finished by the artist I'm commissioning) and was adding them to the scenes. And it all looked great, if a little janky.

The latest working project file is a hot-mess of missing noses and floating heads. And it still makes me giggle.

But I look forward to returning to it and creeping it closer and closer to final presentation. For those who are not familiar, there's a patron-only pre-visualisation available.

Much love x
