Next project - VR Onward Bullshittery - Update #1

Good evening folks. I hope you're all doing well. So with part 1 of the Divinity bullshittery complete, I decided to spend the following week doing important paperwork - mostly tax stuff *groan*.

But with that out of the way, I'm eager to get started with the next project. Which is to be another bullshittery. Since you guys have been so very patient with me on all the video-essay pet projects. Thank you for being so.

Since Divinity was the choice on the last poll, this one gets to be mine. So on reviewing the footage I've decided to try something that might be unexpected, Random VR Onward Bullshittery.

If Pavlov is "VR CSGO" then Onward would be "VR Insurgency". A first-person shooter with a much stronger emphasis on military weapons in close-quarters urban and suburban environments. Military vs military, rather than terrorists vs counter-terrorists.

The game has since plunged down the rabbit-hole of controversy in mid 2020, when it made the decision to dramatically downgrade the PC graphics to be inline with Facebook's inferior VR technology. But nevertheless, the footage that I recorded is great. And extremely similar in tone and pacing to Random Pavlov Bullshittery.

About 17 hours of games were played with myself and the VR regulars, often between two teams of 4 or 5, fighting over specific capture objectives. And there was...as you can imagine...a lot of silliness.

They should all now be up on the closet archive for those curious.

What I'm currently doing now is "nesting". A sort of pre-production stage. Where I nest the useful clips in their own separate timelines, for sorting and cutting. A process that will probably take until about Thursday. At which point I'll know what's available and can start the cutting fully if the footage is amusing enough. So far so good though.

I'll crack on with this and let you know if there are any problems. I'm rather hoping the project will be relatively short compared to Divinity. Hopefully I have your blessing to continue and I hope you're all keeping well.

Also how is it August? What is time?!
