Rising Storm Vietnam - Update #3

Good morning folks. Another update on progress.

It's about editing day 16 of 20 to 25 on Random Rising Storm 2: Vietnam bullshittery (part 3). And everything is coming together.

I've complete a sort of editing "phase 1" in which the overall structure has been finalised. All the jokes are in place. And all of the After Effects sequences are keyframed. One could watch the video from start to finish and see a bullshittery. Though it would be rough on the eyes.

I'm now in a "phase 2" in which I sort out the complicated bits. Often things that have dependencies. Such as sound effects and especially artwork. For I cannot draw for toffee and need to commission artists for certain gags.

I previously had a bad habit of mixing editing "phase 2" and "quality assurance". Compromising both. So what I'm doing now aren't really quick fixes. And is more like focusing on the special parts. Like a painter working on the face.

On that note, have a look at the timeline from the last update:

Those montages are that "face". The hero sequences that need special attention. Each present a challenge:

• Montage1 consists of a running gag with ZF Digby. And necessitates one of those animated puppets I've added before. Meaning I need to approach an artist and see if they're interested in drawing it out before I can animate it. A work in progress.
• Montage2 is mechanically easy. Consisting of some quick cuts of tunnel digging, recorded a long time ago when it worked differently in the game. But it suffers from some serious audio problems that I need to try and correct.
• Montage3 is being "cut for sizzle". Meaning its cut to a pop song. Rather than more conventional bullshittery pacing. With the whole song hopefully being fascinating to watch, concerning a peculiar in-game weapon that seems useless. But becomes monstrous in the right hands.

So the work is ongoing. Will focus on these montages and will try to have the video ready by the weekend after next at the earliest.
