June 2022 - Which project would you prefer I focus on?

Good afternoon everyone.

I'm looking to start allocating hard drive space for the next project. And need to have a think about what it should be. This time though, it's your choice from a poll. Would you like to vote on what you'd like me to try? (please remember that you can vote for multiple options)

Link to the poll - POLL BROKEN SORRY, please see the next post.

VR Blade and Sorcery:

Blade and Sorcery is a sword fighting game in virtual reality. In which the player must defend themselves from waves of attacking bandits, witches, cultists, etc. Using fairly realistic sword physics with collision detection.

Despite the swing-and-miss that was my previous Blade & Sorcery project, there's actually a wealth of amusing moments that have occurred. Typically being cockups where I've tried to be stylish. But have ended up impaling myself, or have fallen off a ledge, or otherwise have been sabotaged by incompetence.

Human Fall Flat:

Human Fall Flat is a puzzle game that's quite similar to Gang Beasts. In which the player awkwardly controls a "doll" like avatar through a bunch of cooperative puzzles.

The clan and our various associates have played several evenings of this. The gags typically involve flailing around the puzzles. Sabotaging each other for the fun of it. With your average forklift having two people driving the wheel in opposite directions, two people hanging off the side, and two people pull on each other's heads. And nobody in charge or having a clue what's going on.

DayZ:

DayZ is an open-world survival game in which players are dropped into an open environment with a tense apocalyptic atmosphere and very limited rules for how to best survive the zombie apocalypse.

The highlights have actually built up over the several sessions of DayZ. Both the older mod and the more recent standalone. I'm fairly confident there's enough for another bullshittery, or several.

Halo - Multiplayer sessions:

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a cocktail of multiple Halo games made available for the first time on the PC. This caused an explosion of weekly games played by the clan and our associates.

A very large number of funny clips were subsequently recorded. And (unusually) the notetaking appears to be very thorough. Being round-based and requiring little setup for each individual moment.

Half Life: Alyx - "Jeff" only:

Half Life Alyx is a VR shooter/adventure game set in the Half Life universe.

During my onstream playthrough there was one particularly noteworthy segment in which I encountered a monster called "Jeff". Roaming around the decaying remains of a Vodka distillery.

Whilst I try to steer away from horror games due to the difficulty of getting back into the mood in front of so many people, this horror segment snuck up on me in an otherwise highly immersive adventure game.

The result was something extremely similar to Alien Isolation. An intense creep through a claustrophobic environment covered in glass, being followed by a massive creature operating on Gears of War Beserker rules - it cannot see you. But it can hear you!

Holdfast: Nations At War:

Holdfast is a large scale multiplayer game that is best described as "Mount and Blade, but with muskets". One shot kills you. And games involve standing in firing lines and mimicking 18th century combat.

The community is unusually jovial. Taking to the roleplay and embracing the silliness. Comedic moments usually involve cannonballs sending people flying, girly screaming and silly French accents.

Arma 3:

Arma 3 is a mill-sim, with strong emphasis placed on realism in a cooperative shooter with many players in a session. The players are typically divided up into squads with a mock chain-of-command for the sake of immersion.

Making a bit of a return to the list. A master project file already exists. But I need to determine if the footage I have remaining from prior sessions is useful. Regardless, multiple fresh sessions, notably the larger scale ops and the Vietnam expansion "Prairie Fire" have probably resulted in a lot of useful moments.

VR Rec Room:

Rec Room is a VR arcade of sorts. Involving lots of mini games that multiple people can play in virtual reality. Including charades, paintball, dodgeball, laser tag, etc. It was often one of the thing we'd play whilst pratting around in VR

Comedic moments are very party game'esk, involving lots of piss taking of each other. And the sometimes ridiculous game mechanics. Such as having a literal loot box appear in front of your feet every few minutes.

Comments

Well I missed the "Jeff" bit in Half Life:Alyx so I voted for that. However, since ArmA is leading in the polls (mild shock), I hope you will let the "horror" of jungle warfare and the MACV SOG campaign trickle trough a bit.

DCAR

It's not showing my vote for Alyx either, although the poll says I voted
