Thank you very much for your responses to the poll earlier this week all. I'm happy to do the Rust video first, followed by the Peak bullshittery. All seems nice and sensible. I've been cracking on this week, and here is my summary:
The Rust script (mostly penned last week) is roughly 10,000 words. About 8000 words are done, but I'm expecting the remainder in the final fifth, after I cut a compilation of the battle moments together. Makes more sense to do it there, I feel.
I've managed to record, cut and trim about 3,000 words between Tuesday and Friday. So it's probably another 2 weeks before the whole thing is end-to-end voiced and cut.
Some visual editing done. But it's fairly basic at the moment. Most of the visuals will come with the next phase. I feel I need to focus on the audio first.
So far, everything is going smoothly.

One of the benefits to moving house is that I'm no longer living next to a major road. I'm in a relatively peaceful residential area. This, combined with modifying my office with acoustic foam, means that I've been free to do recording at any time of day.
Previously, I'd need to stay up into the very early hours of the morning until all the little Deliveroo scooters went away. But overall the process of recording audio has been much smoother.
Thus so far, what's happening is that each segment of the video is being recorded. And cut into lots of little pieces like this. Then I can adjust the timing whichever way I need.

Slowly, pieces of Rust footage are added to the gaps, as things are being referenced. Showing visual examples from the gameplay. With that audio being placed below the spoken dialogue for the sake of any effects I might wish to apply.

Annoyingly I did make a small mistake. I've mashed the wrong tick box on OBS which has caused the Teamspeak audio and game audio to be on the same layer.
It's mostly going to mean I'll need to replace some background sounds during the QA. Fire this gun, throw that grenade, etc. To cover up any teamspeak audio that might have played at the time. But overall it's not complicated.

Truth be told folks, there's not a huge amount to update you on right now. It's currently a fairly simple task of recording the script, revising it in places, and trimming it down into little boxes. With 3k done of 8k.
When I hit the 8k mark, I'll either stop and backtrack to start working on visuals. Or start chopping together a fast paced montage cut to music, which start at that part of the video and signals the start of the battle. More on that later.
For now, audio cutting continues. Thank you all.
