Rust - The Battle for Honeypot Hill - Update #12

Good evening folks. Extremely quick post to let you know that the polishing/QA of the final version of the Rust video is nearly finished.

If you've been holding off on the drafts for the sake of the final, feel free to view this link. - https://youtu.be/ERaICqwMMQg

Really it's missing one scene in the 40th minute, some little audio tweaks all over. And some trivial or optional issues. It's all that's holding it back.

Let me know if you spot anything that looks weird though. I've been staring at it for so very long, I'm sure fresh eyes will spot things I have not.

Thank you for your extremely patience all. It's nearly out the door.

Congrats getting another one out Soviet. That buildup and buildup and then just utter flop at the end is masterful.

Fantastic video, what a marvelous plan that was. Unfortunate that it didn't quite work out.

Void

Watched the final video. Fan-fucking-tastic.

38.47 - You're welcome. Now find a hot girlfriend and get her into Warhammer 40,000 as gratitude.

DERB

You've outdone yourself with this one!

Thank you kindly Hammerkids. That was very thorough and comprehensive. I have indeed addressed most of what you've found. Thank you for being so analytical :)

funny story, I got quite inebriated last night and sat down to watch this with the intent on nitpicking and analyzing for you. turns out it's hard to pay close attention while fucked up. I fell asleep, dropped pizza in my lap, woke up and realized this would be better for the morning when I'm level-headed. so here I am! 2:23- this particular streamer's name is "Fuslie", not "Fusie" lol. stick an L in there 7:16- perhaps some sort of on-screen movement or arrows popping up on the line "these three numbers"? it's not suffering without it, but some clever rhythmic way to highlight said numbers would really accentuate your point and make it "pop" caught by Lare92 in the comments: "26:52 and again at 28:23 misspelt Nervoushawk's name on the map" 38:30- you are so welcome! and very well deserved, your content has gotten me through a lot of life's bullshit, I do not mind one bit throwing you some cash every month. also, even without the YouTube channel, with all my money being funneled to the same five rich dickheads nowadays, I'd much rather help some random Brit pay his bills with my money <3 39:56 some nude characters remain unblurred, may cause issues with the YouTube overlords. ignore if it's intentional 41:22 lol what 48:54 another unblurred nude character 1:08:04 the silent black screen is like... a second and a half too long. it's an odd pause. might I suggest making it as long as four beats of the music about to play? it's an invisible lead-in to the music, and would help immerse the viewer more in the intensity. an even nitpickier thing to mention would be to have the text appear instantly instead of fading in, since the music starts instantly instead of fading it itself, it would be on beat and help highlight the intense pre-battle feeling. music study is my thing, the way a track is used can make or break the experience :) 1:10:31 misspelt "aren't" 1:10:45 I actually love the tone switch when the full song comes in, consider my expectations of a simple silly gag subverted. great way to start the battle, good shit! General note for the whole battle: It's remarkably entertaining and full of energy, but in my opinion it suffers a bit from the classic issue of showing versus telling. all the stuff about the horse girls in particular could have just been shown, like I don't wanna hear all about it, I wanna *see* Maja and Birdy harass the twat team with guerrilla warfare, the talking sort of takes the viewer out of the moment and raw intensity of the battle and into a more analytical perspective. later in the battle towards the end of the video, there's multiple times where the tension for the climax is somewhat lost in the explaining. It's not terrible, just a bit distracting. and I realize the project is so far down the production line that a major structural change like that would be a nightmare, so this is just a note for future narrative endeavors. Alright, video's finished, I really like it! Good work mate. All the stuff I listed is just nitpicky shit (as you requested) and the video overall is super entertaining and REALLY tense at parts. Thanks for the video, please take some time off once you're finished :)
