By the way, the situation is, Lancer can totally sneak up on Saber when she is dealing with Caster, but he did the minimal order from Kayneath which is killing Caster thats it, a Saber-like person would die in shame if she doesn't thank him for saving but play dirty after repelled Caster. From above they value their image or fame more than anything else because they are dead and they know there exist further things after death, plus being honor is okay from their time, and if their are just some typical mortal people in our modern time and act willingly/unwillingly for practical goal instead of grander view due to short lifespan and pressure of survival, them could just end up dragging each other legs, wearing out each other before the survival of self till the end and the "clever" or "tactical" villian will just win by being smart, imagine you are Saber, Rider or Lancer you would not want to take out easy target at early and died after that immediately or end up facing a bunch of survived wicked opponents who don't play lawfully during the endgame right... to me it is practical to coorperate with worthy person in Grail War like this if there are any. If not, we human can jump to the conclusion already, we are reaching a point that holding any beliefs or being spiritual is pointless, although I think this will happen in future where humanity discarded almost all of these and fully summitted into material needs. In my opinion this is an anime about clash of ideals, values like honor can be as powerful as being chaotic or any other material values, forming an alliance firmed by their beliefs actually works if there is someone holding it, it looks so impractical just because in modern time many other doesn't do it thats it, just a matter of numbers and the social atmosphere.
