This episode is exactly why I said Fine probably couldn't solo Shem-Ha. Carol was by far the best shot at doing so and her plan did nearly work, but Senshoujin hard countered her alchemy. Without it, Carol probably would have instantly won and saved all of humanity. Her attack wasn't physical damage that could be nullified, it would have just cut out the divine aspects infecting Miku and freed her. Perhaps it might not have instantly killed Shem-ha, but it would have denied her a body. Which is an option Fine wouldn't have. I love Chris's Amalgam so much. She finally fully embraces what Ichaival is supposed to be and uses a bow, but it's also a bow designed to protect others. It places one of her reflectors, the defensive tool she's had since the very beginning, on the tip of the arrow. Simultaneously giving her a shot that can pierce through attacks effortlessly and a tool for throwing up a barrier to save others. It's the perfect collection of all the character growth she went through over the previous seasons. She finally fixes her issue with excessive damage, by having her own way to prevent it. The ending of this episode is one of the most hype in this entire show. Forcing X-Drive by sheer willpower, Shem-ha quoting the subtitle of Season 1 ("meteoroids falling, burning, and disappear, and then"), the girls falling from orbit with Hibiki's incredible scream, the reveal of the X-Drive forms, and all synced up to the beginning notes of the ending song. Every time I watch this episode I get so hyped for the finale.
