[SILVER] Legend of the Galactic Heroes (S1E12) "The Verge of Death (Part 2)"

Wait, what? 60% of the Alliance's fleet is twice as many as 50% of the Imperial fleet? That means the Alliance has a TOTAL fleet size of about 333,334 ships. While the Empire has 200,000 total ships (assuming you forgot a zero). The way things were being expressed I thought the Empire was monolithic in scale, considering they've been established for longer and would have had more time to build up. I would not have guessed that they had a smaller military.

Know Your Roll

I'm really split on the design of the Spartanians. On one hand, the original basically just looked like really tiny versions of Alliance capital ships and that's a bit bland. On the other, it also had all its weapons mounted in turrets on the sides of the fighter, actually letting it target ships all around it and make up for its weaker movement compared to the Walkure. This version has all its weapons in the front, which is a bit silly. The Imperial Walkure are almost identical to their original version, because that's a ridiculously good design for a space fighter and they were right to keep it similar. The arms can flip and angle however the pilot needs, giving it incredible freedom of movement and better firing arcs. One of the most efficient fighter designs in all of sci-fi. I always forget just how quickly Amritsar happens in this series. It's a massive battle on a scale that dwarfs almost everything else that comes before or after, yet it's a mere twelve episodes in. This is the majority of the Alliance fleet and half of the Imperial fleet, directly clashing. No matter the outcome here, there could never be a battle with this high a number of ships again for many many years. If I recall correctly, the original put the ships here at 200,000 Alliance and 100,00 Imperial (at the start of the invasion). By now those are probably FAR more equal.
