Epub for Shadow Council to Date

Not much to say, sorry I've been slow lately, but here's some nice epub for the fuill story to date. I'll also see about getting the side stories up shortly. Hopefully get some more into the story soon too, maybe even tonight. Fifth year just... I don't WANT to write fifth year, I hated that book, but I need to get through it to spin off the story from Hogwarts. Sigh.

A bit late to party, and this has already been said but - you’ve gone so far off the rails as far as Harry Potter canon is concerned that you might as well throw out the original plot and have fun. Umbridge? Pheh, she is a ministry functionary and never got sent to school. Hell - maybe Fudge went the other way and is clinging to Dumbledores robes more than ever - especially as Cedric survived and there are more witnesses. The Families & their politics are a bigger part. Hell maybe Voldemort isn’t focused on the prophecy and is returning to his rabblerousing roots instead. Have fun with the story, don’t let somebody else’s plot write you into a corner.

If you hate 5th year that much then just subvert it to get rid of the parts you hate the most. Umbridge? Have Harry call her out in a duel after the first detention and he breaks her. Or go the Wednesday route. Dumbles keeping Haryyin the dark? Have Xander help Harry become more independent. Maybe arrange to have Harry go train with Tommy Falcon. Or simply have Harry start throwing that mage knight title around along with the fact he's an adult legally and Lord Potter and Regant Black. Have him inform the queen of the minister's corruption and lies. She'll probably remove him then. Most importantly don't kill Sirius at the end of the year. It was a stupid kill even in canon I can think of a lot of ways to get rid of many of the worst parts of year 5.

I find the prospect of Umbridge having to deal with Wednesday absolutely fascinating. Umbridge would find it impossibly contradictory to reconcile the Addams power and prestige with her self-importance and contempt for... well everyone else. And I suspect that Wednesday would be condescendingly "admiring" of Umbridge's "childish efforts" in torturing the students. While being contemptuous that she was not willing to do more and do it publicly! LOL
