The Silence and the Fury Update Progress Info!

Hello everyone, Team Radious here!

We hope that you are all getting some well-deserved rest this summer, and that the weather is sparing you some of its more unpleasant humours! We have just gone on short getaways ourselves and returned home reinvigorated just in time for the release of Warhammer II’s latest, and final, DLC – The Silence and the Fury!

As is the case with almost every official update, we expect it to break our mods completely and make them unusable. As such, they will once again become active Work in Progress and we shall do our best to update them for you as soon as we can. Among other things this process usually includes integrating the new changes and features into our mods’ internal balance and making sure that there are no crashes and/or other issues. By its very nature this is a very time-consuming process, and we unfortunately cannot offer a timeline, though we will strive to have it done before the end of July.

Moreover, due to the nature of this update, we might be introducing some further reaching changes either the way the DLC features work, or the way that some of our own content does. We are currently considering our options and trying to determine which one suits our own design philosophy better and makes the game closer to our vision.

To make the waiting period more bearable for you, we will be updating this article with news concerning our progress, so if this is something that you are interested then it might be worth keeping an eye!

Update Info 0  - 11.07.2021:  Work starts in 3 days when DLC is released. After waching and reading many articles and videos base overview of all new  content was done, around "million" changes which need to be done are marked and now only to do it all! Many old and existing stuff got  changed, so we will have to adapt all that to function properly once  again. We are also preparing how we will rework our custom lords which now CA adding as official ones + how to keep/rework our full occupation options with Beastmen.

Update Info 1  - 14.07.2021:  Work started today we have first info to share with you! Now the very slow process starts with adding all new files into the mod, this alone will take dozens of hours to do. Modding tools are ready and updated, first few smaller tables are now fully updated. Massive one - Building effects where are thousands changes related mainly to Beastmen is now under reconstruction, this table itself will take around 10 hours to fully update. We are also heavy testing all new mechanics, features and preparing their integration and modifications based on our overhaul mod. Around 4% of all is done!

Update Info 2  - 15.07.2021:  Thursday here, after i got home from my job updating work continues. Mostly focused on all new buildings, new tiers, removed tiers, their effects and also on unit recruitment, there are hundreds changes, many things were moved completely and had to adapt all our custom stuff to this aswell. Also created completely new garrisons for new Beastmen towns, fixed missing vanilla garrisons from CA (as usual they forgot on several towns which right now have no units at all....). Most changes are related to Beastmen, Dwarfs and Lizardmen. Long night ahead, will try to do as much as possible, before i fall asleep. Around 8% of all is done!

Update Info 3  - 16.07.2021: First very long night and 7 hours of fixing and updating gone! Now i need coffee and time to go to work, updating will continue afternoon! All new buildings are now fully included, all their effects properly updated (full balancing will come later). Further work was done on tables related to AI, unit recruitment and building requirements. AI recruitment system fully updated with new units which  are integrated  between already existing units based on their tier and  quality. All new AI profiles are now fully implemented, most of them are Beastmen related. Around 13% of all is done!

Update Info 4  - 16.07.2021: Friday evening and another long afternoon of fixing and updating gone! Work will continue during night and some stuff tomorrow morning, Saturday afternoon i wont be available and will return to it at Saturday night. Update process is sofar steady but very slow due thousands changes in many big tables so everything  must be carefully and manually checked. Added all new units and characters into the mod. All these units  received  complete rework and rebalance, ror units own unique weapons, many  different attributes and complete stats and cost changes to perfectly fit into main core Radious gameplay as you know it (further  balancing  changes will be done also based on your feedback once th update is out). All new weapons and projectiles were also completely rebalanced and included with additions of our own new ones to make  wider differences between each unit. All Beastmen units + all our custom ones lost their recruitment costs, upkeep values and are almost prepared for unit caps. Around 18% of all is done!

Update Info 5  - 17.07.2021: Saturday morning here and another night report! Was bit easier to work on update since its not so hot outside like during the day. Part 1 is now almost fully updated. All new abilities are now fully updated and rebalanced, same as skills and new traits. Also various tweaks and changes to many spells. Updated various UI files and much more. Beastmen got new technology tree, changes to Dwarfs and Lizardmen are also finished now. During today is plan to finalise Part 1. Around 27% of all is done!

Update Info 6  - 17.07.2021: Saturday evening here and another progress report! Part 1 is now fully updated. Last several hours i put into updating all  UI files our mods are using, like custom loading screens, menus,  unique faction UI and other stuff. Further changes were done to AI tweaks. Rune system and rune effects rebalanced, same as all other new skills. Additional balancing sweep for new units and recruitment changes to Beastmen plus much more. Work will continue tomorrow morning, after 2 days without basically any sleep i need few hours to rest. Around 35% of all is done!

Update Info 7  - 18.07.2021: Sunday evening here, weekend is almost over and we have another report ready for you. Finally today i have managed to make the mod start and work  again! Had to fix several critical changes to prevent crashes, but it runs! Work is far from done yet, but we are once again closer to it. Mod is currently under heavy internal testing phase and we are fixing, changing and balancing one thing after another! Was also updating all our scripts, added some new ones, many new campaign mechanics changes, UI, units and much more! We also said bye bye to our Tusgor Chariot unit, will be replaced by something new, same as our 2 Beastmen Lords! Tomorrow i am almost all day at work, so updating will continue after, when i get home (and tonight still). Around 47% of all is done!

Update Info 8  - 19.07.2021: Monday night here, almost all day at work, but we have more to share! 2 of 3 main mod parts now loading and working fine! We did tons of balance changes, bug fixes, campaign balance tweaks. However not everything goes smooth and easy, we run into some troubles with new Beastmen mechanics, new UI is blocking our custom units to be added into Beastmen unit caps and few other things we need to work around. There is always something to complicate things. Most scripts are also already updated, only few left to do now and then proper heavy testing. All this must be done before it goes live so you wont get some unfinished turd! Work will continue further this night and then tomorrow evening when i am once again back home from work. Around 55% of all is done!

Update Info 9  - 20.07.2021: Another night, another report ready for you! Progress is going fine, we have solved the Beastmen cap issues, currently doing some changes to several of their new mechanics. Part 3 update is also going well. Several things got finalised, all scripts should be fully rewritten and updated. If all will go well thursday/friday could be test build ready for anyone interested and live release saturday/sunday. No promises, but we are doing everything we can to get this done for you in best possible shape! Around 63% of all is done!

Update Info 10  - 21.07.2021: Wednesday night here and another report for you! Many things were fixed, improved and updated today, we have finalised many parts, mechanic reworks and more. Also many additional UI elements were updated. Stability seems sofar great, no crashes were spotted in any of the campaigns and numerous battles. We are almost  there! Tomorrow we should have all 3 Parts ready for you to try and test, report any bugs you find, any balance issue you may spot (none of course exists in such a quality product!). If all will go well, Live public release will be on sunday this week! Around 72% of all is done!

Update Info 11  - 22.07.2021: Another Thursday here and big news today! We are almost finished, just some final tweaks, tests and few more things to finalise. As we promised yesterday we are releasing for you our Test Build which you can try before update goes Live during sunday! Feel free to report any feedback or bugs on our discord. Changelog and installation instructions are all attached in download file below. Around 85% of all is done!

Update Info 12  - 23.07.2021: Second Friday here and we are almost there! Test Build posted above just got updated with more fixes, changes and other improvements. We are finishing updating our smaller submods so everything is ready for release. Final testing and tweaks are planned for tomorrow and these last 10 incredibly difficult and long days will be behind us! Around 93% of all is done!

Update Info 13  - 24.07.2021: This is our last blog update! Which means we are finished with updating and release is on the way! We had incredible hard working 11 days to deliver you this update before my vacation starting early August. We just need to check last few things and all should be good to go. We said update will be released on sunday, well plans changed, it will be later today! Around 99% of all is done!
