Season 19 - Tracks & Changes

Season 18 is ending, and Pre-Season & Season 19 is starting in 2 weeks, as a Patreon, you hear about it well in advance; so let's give you the low-down.

Note; Silverstone is next week's "post-season" track for everyone to get PitRep up for next season!

Website Changes

For season 18 we made a major change to how the PitRep system works; allowing us to ensure that incidents weren't picked up when they should be etc, there is one "bug" still remaining however it's very much dependent on data from ACC and that's that RTG can still cause you to get an incident penalty; but that is due to the inconsistency of ACC not telling us exactly when you return to the garage, however since returning to the garage probably stops you getting more incident points than attempting to drive around, it's not a high priority issue for us.

We made a lot of Quality of Life changes across the website; that allow for easier management and a more unified approach to advertising races.

Liveries Issues

We are also testing and deploying many fixes to the livery upload system before races due to the way we currently handle them; they're causing issues when running from the backend of the website; this is something we're attempting to make much more robust so that it always works and have made great progress with this in the last weeks.

Standings Fixes

Thanks to Balazs, standings have been fixed for all series, including the Daily Series; to explain how the points work, it's your best EVENT that counts towards the results, so you have to do well in both races for the double dash races for example to receive the points from it.

Next Priority - Statistics!

The next priority is to implement our stats system; we're testing this across the board and hope to have some updates with you soon; we want to give you as many stats as possible so even if you don't get wins/podiums, you still have something to look forwards to.

Season 19 - Changes

The Return of Hourly Races / Replacement of Double Dash

Hourly Races will be back starting next season; the reason behind this is that we've now got the US servers up and running and it's much easier to schedule races every hour which means we're always providing a race for everyone, we've also been monitoring WHEN people sign up to races and realised most sign up in the 2hrs or so leading up to the races; which you will be able to see them on the homepage to sign up to them in that window.

This will be HOURLY DOUBLE DASH RACES as we know people love the format from the poll we cast a few weeks back.

Weekend Warrior Format Change

Based on the polls we've been running for the Weekend Warrior, we'll be adapting the Weekend Warrior format.

- All Races 90 minutes in length

- Teams of 1-2 drivers are able to take part.

VIP Trophy Format Change

The VIP Trophy will have a slight format change.

- Return of 2 Dropped Rounds (including maximum signouts allowed)

- 60min Races - Formats are still being voted on by you!

- B Class Minimum Required to Sign up (This was supposed to be set last season however we wanted to give everyone fair chance)

The VIP Trophy will remain first come, first served with 50 slots as attendance has been great this season, if we split the grids past 50, it would mean some races with only 15 drivers turning up per split and if drivers weren't that close (even if we split by pace as we have in the past); if drivers sign out, there may be ~10 drivers on the grid, so we've decided to keep it 1 big grid with First Come First Served, once the slots are gone they're gone.

Remember though, that you do only have 2 dropped/signouts in the championship; so if you know you're going to miss more than 2 rounds, please don't sign up; there are plenty of other races on the platform that allow for you to enter/leave throughout.

NOTE: IF WE FILL UP WE MAY OPEN A RESERVE LIST AND BASED ON THIS LIST DECIDE TO DO 2 SPLITS IF IT REACHES A GOAL AMOUNT, BUT ONLY IF IT REACHES A SET LIMIT AS WE DON'T WANT DRIVERS MISSING OUT!

Advanced Daily Race

The advanced daily race will be setup as a "practice" event for the VIP Trophy; so will have the same weather to match that throughout the week, this gives greater reason to all drivers to get involved in the Advanced Daily Race, no other changes will be made to the races.

Season 19 - Tracks

This season's tracks have been decided by trying to offer different tracks from last season; this has meant however; that we do not have as many of the "fan favourite" tracks on the list; but hope that the variety should allow for everyone to get some good races and practice in!
