A Goddess's Achilles Heel

Just as the goddess was about to deliver the final blow, a civilian suddenly appeared on the battlefield. Celeste's heart tightened, worried that the ensuing battle would harm the innocent. In this moment of distraction, the Devourer seized the opportunity, leaped up, opened its gaping mouth, and engulfed the goddess's head.
An eerie poison gas wafted from the Devourer's mouth, which even Celeste, as a deity, was not immune to. In just a few seconds, the mighty Ultra Celeste fell to her knees, blacked out, and fell unconscious in defeat.
The ever-victorious goddess was defeated by her own kindness and compassion for the civilian. She had not anticipated that her mercy would give the enemy an opportunity, ultimately leading to a grave mistake. Now, the unconscious Celeste is at the mercy of the Devourer, her situation precarious.
