Status Update - December 2022
Added 2023-01-02 11:12:21 +0000 UTCHello and Happy New Year! In December I was busy exclusively with World Racing 2 CE and with SilentPatch for CMR3, so this update is going to be very short.
SilentPatch for Colin McRae Rally 3
The project is ongoing for 3 months now, but at the time of writing this update it's reaching the end - it's undergoing tests, translation strings for new options are being made, and I'm about to start working on a release writeup!
Since the last blog post, I added changes like:
- Fully finalized widescreen, including a few unused screens just in case other mods use them in the future
- Anisotropic Filtering, Refresh Rate, and VSync options
- Adjustable Field of View, options for a digital tachometer and vertical split screen
- Better environment map, with reflections including the sky
- More UI fixes, incl. menu consistency fixes and a more "stable" digital tachometer (that isn't jittering due to nearest neighbour filtering)
- Translation pack complete, merging all official releases of the game into one release with seven languages - English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech
- and more...
I don't want to promise too much, but at this rate, everything should be ready to release sometime next week! I hope to be able to push this patch out for everyone before my vacation ends, at least.
World Racing 2 Champion Edition
As mentioned last month, WR2CE has now been released on Steam! The reception was great and although it's a small release, it sold better than expected. If everything goes well, more games from Synetic may follow in 2023!
