Banking Explained – Money and Credit

Banks are a riddle wrapped up in an enigma. We all kind of know that they do stuff with money we don’t understand, while the last crisis left a feeling of deep mistrust and confusion. We try to shed a bit of light onto the banking system. Why where banks invented, why did they cause the last crisis and are there alternatives?

I imagine that Cryptocurrencies would require their own video to fully explain, plus I don't think anybody can speak with authority about what role they will have on a *Global* scale, just yet. We can describe their mechanisms, and what roles they are currently filling (starting to get some exciting inroads into remittance markets!), but can only speculate about what they *might* allow in the future, or which of a hundred potential applications get the most attention and thus investment and realization. As this video explained, banks are in the risk management business and Cryptocurrencies democratize risk management.. but by far most end users still want their risks transparently managed "by somebody else". What shape will that middle tier wind up taking with Crypto?

Thanks a lot for this. More brilliant and interesting content.
