NEW VIDEO: What If We Detonated All Nuclear Bombs at Once?
Added 2019-03-31 12:31:38 +0000 UTC
What happens if make a huge pile from all 15,000 nuclear bombs and pull the trigger? And what happens if we make an even bigger pile?
I just looooooooooooooove the bombs

I love your guys videos! I even showed my science teacher your channel and she loved the topics! You have inspired me to become a scientist when I grow up, and I bet you've inspired many others! Keep up the good work and get that DIAMOND PLAY BUTTON!

Hi :-)
Would there have been earthquakes and aftershocks? Both at ground 0 and on the other side that ground?
Provoked earthquakes, by the large amount of energy forces down into the ground?

hopefully it does not happen

I have a question: would the size of the bomb affect the detonation mechanism? I understand that in order to detonate a warhead it requires a series of simultaneous explosions all around it in order to compress the nuclear material in the centre. Would it even be possible with a bomb this size and would the fallout from a giant bomb like this be worse or lesser than, say, the Castle Bravo detonation?

I recently questioned about the funding of kurtzgesagt videos and now you make a video explodind all the atomic bombs of the world here. Okay, I will not make any more criticism. kkk.

Excellent video (as always) and an especially visual one too, so I was wondering where I could get the graphics for this video and the previous two as well (I'm a $15 patron)? Many thanks!

There is a wonderful song by Jon Anderson from his solo album "Animation" proposing a similar thing - but launching them out of the atmosphere and making it a worldwide fireworks celebration for peace... That’d be neat to explore - though the cost of all those rockets to the environment would be bad, but nothing compared to the nukes going off here. Carl Sagan had a better idea - of using them to power space probes and maybe an Orion craft using mini nukes to push to near lightspeed and slow down for a fraction of the weight of conventional chemical rocketry or the exotic delicacy of a solar/magnetic sail.
Here’s the song - “Surrender” from the “Animation” album done way back - <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynCcR99zYU4" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynCcR99zYU4</a>
To Kurgestat - IF you did a follow up on this scenario - you could ask Jon Anderson for permission to use/link the song - I’m not him but I bet he’d go “YES!” big time to it. It’d promote attention/album sales with the links and get the message - peace overall - out more.

I really love the smoothness of the animation from this video. I think its one of a kind, not seen from any previous videos.

I don't know why the fireball must expand at the speed of light. The flash will do so, but the superheated matter will expand at only several times the speed of sound. Witnesses far enough away will see the flash (and be super-sunburned by it) and still have a short time before the shockwave strikes them.

Wouldn't those nice fireball animations from the explosion expand with the speed of light? So rather then an animation of a growing circle on the horizon, wouldn't everything be perfectly fine until suddenly it is not.

Had a thought during this video. Is there any basis for a thought problem around taking all the nuclear weapons and turning them into power plants or the best equivalent? Could everyone on earth have a thousand watt light bulb in every room?
