As you might have noticed, we never put ourselves in the foreground a lot. We never did a face reveal or a behind the scenes video and we never talked that much about how we work – even though this would probably made our lives much easier. Especially in the beginning, people thought we were some kind of corporate financed start up, like Vox.com, while we were just a few guys with laptops. But it didn’t matter. The content is why we are doing this and behind the scenes stuff takes up too much time anyways. Also it was nice walking around Vidcon Amsterdam last week and not being recognized.
But we have gotten so big. We became a company for all sorts of legal and practical reasons. It’s just not the same tiny operation anymore. So I want to slowly open up a little. For the first time ever we are working seriously on a behind the scenes video that explains how we do things. And starting today I will write regular public blog posts that explain how we work as a team and a company. Talk about why we do things the way we do them. How we finance ourselves. Give peaks behind the curtains and become more transparent. There won’t be a face reveal or something similar though because that is totally irrelevant to what we do.
As the first post I wrote about sponsorships and Youtube. A topic that makes me a tiny bit uncomfortable. But it feels important to share a bit how these things work and introduce more transparency. We want to be a group on the internet that you can trust. Hope you like it.
