NEW VIDEO: ...And We'll Do it Again
Added 2021-12-07 15:00:07 +0000 UTC
Kurzgesagt is lying to you, in every video, even in this one. Because our videos distill very complex subjects into flashy ten minute videos and unfortunately, reality is, well, complicated. The question of how we deal with that, is central to what we do on this channel and something we think about a lot.
Even if you do know everything, you have to simplify to fit it into 10 minutes and be understood.

I am totally agree with you, in my case as a native spanish speaker it can be said that i am quite lucky to be in a great extent to be fluent in english but of course not a native onr. It wouldnt be diffucult to find someone with disposition to translate all this knowing to the spanish language , waiting with hope that this happen soon or after.

We really do care about what you do there in Kurzgesagt! Such a fantastic video that exemplifies everything that is awesome about the project. Christmas is the best time because we get to sit as a family and work through all the old Kurzgesagt videos favourites one (or two ….or sometimes 3) a day, before the kids open their merch gifts. It’s going to be fascinating to understand the impact of your knowledge transfer and eloquence on their development into adults.

It has been an absolute joy watching all of your videos. I have nothing but respect for anyone that admits they don't know everything.

You have to admire this kind of honesty - but sad that Kurzgesagt has to go to these lengths. Keep doing what you are doing! We Love You!

My daughter and I love watching all of your videos. I can't wait to show her this one most of all!
She is younger, so when she asks for a deeper explanation I often have to say "well, what you were told wasn't exactly the truth." Then I explain the more complex topic.
Visualizing that process was mind bending. Very neat team!
Thank you for all of your wonderful content!☺

I have a similar question, abt Hebrew. I remember there was once an option to contribute subtitles. Can I translate myself?

Hi, I wanted to ask about subtitle translations. I don't need them because I speak English fluently, but sometimes I want to share these videos with my friends in Spain and they won't watch them because they don't understand spanish all that well. The video from the Dino Asteroid is 5 months old and still has no spanish subtitles. Oddly enough, it has subtitles in Azerbaijanese. There is a subchannel called Kurzgesagt in Spanish that every few months translates a video or two, but the translations are few and always about some video recorded in the Bronze Age. Spanish is a language that opens the door to hundreds of millions of watchers which Kurzgesagt is missing. Who is in charge of the translations? Is it done by hobbyists? Do you accept volunteers?

Profound video that deals with the practical issues of truth, reality, perception, understanding, learning, and complexity, all of which have exceed our human abilities to comprehend fully and to manage adequately. Other than that, we humans are doing GREAT!!!

Very important video to make! Brilliant job as always. Topics about income and source handling gave me an idea for a question. Your team is actively researching multiple currently relevant topics, you're doing incredible job of screening your sources and much more. How much more resources would you need in the production pipeline to allow consistent contributions for Wikipedia articles? Or in a simpler and more direct way: How much more income would Kurzgesagt need to start contributing to Wikipedia articles too? Or is it already happening and it's just not something worth mentioning publicly? I have always been just a consumer of Wikipedia so I'm not familiar with the current contribution requirements. So pardon my ignorance if this is a silly question.
