Any country which gets their hand on Nuclear Weapons is basically Immune from being destroyed or taken over, by force, by those who have nuclear weapons. The only real alternative is to join a country with nuclear weapons. Just ask China why they are not taking Taiwan, even though they have made it undeniably clear that Taiwan is theirs for the taking. It isn't Taiwan stopping them! It is the nuclear missiles, that the US deployed during the First Taiwan Strait Crisis. Honestly that is the only thing that has stopped the worlds dictators from simply taking what they want. If Ukraine had Nuclear Weapons, they never would have been invaded. All major wars have stopped because Nuclear Weapons ensured that no one could start a war with a nuclear capable nation or alliance. I'm sure that we will be fucked over by a lunatic, starting world war 3, at some point, but the way to prevent that isn't done with the people protesting. It is done by not giving concentrated power to lunatics or senile geriatrics, which clearly is very hard to avoid, no matter which part of the world you look at.
