Good film. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Jeff Wayne though. He did an incredible concept album telling the story and has toured all over doing live shows, almost like a play, in concert form. My stepdad loves Jeff Wayne's telling of it, so I was brought up with it. Truly incredible and worth looking into if interested.

I suddenly remembered that you once watched and reacted to Rock of Ages, and Tom Cruise played rock star Stacee Jaxx in that.... But that movie was a VERY unusual one-off for Tom Cruise, and definitely NOT a good representative of him as an actor or the types of movies he does... So it's probably best that you forgot about it ππ (although it did show audiences for the first time that Tom Cruise could actually sing, which nobody really knew before)

2022-04-17 15:56:12 +0000 UTCAlso, Tom Cruise is so synonymous with action movies now (specifically the Mission Impossible franchise), that people forget what an amazing actor he can be. He's worked with Spielberg several times and Spielberg is one of the few directors that really allows him to ACT. The emotion Cruise shows in this movie is downright academy award worthy.
