彼女はフィーネ。
Her name is Fine.

なんだかんだあって出会い、今では僕(あなた)のことを好いてくれている金髪のエルフだ。
Somehow we met, and now this blonde elf has taken quite a liking to me (you).

海を見たことがないというフィーネは、初めての海にすっかりおおはしゃぎ。
Fine had never seen the ocean before—and now she was completely overjoyed by it.

「わあっ……！これが海……！すごい、すごいっ！」
"Waaah...! So this is the sea...! Amazing, it's so amazing!"

波打ち際を素足で駆けながら、目を輝かせるフィーネ。
Fine ran barefoot along the shoreline, her eyes sparkling with wonder.

その無邪気な笑顔に、思わずこんなことを言ってしまった。
Seeing her innocent smile, I couldn't help but say something silly.

「水着、似合ってるじゃん。もっとよく見せてよ。」
"That swimsuit looks great on you. Come on, let me see it better."

「ふふっ、いいよいいよ〜♪」
"Hehe, sure, go ahead~♪"

調子に乗った僕は、ついもうひと押ししてしまう。
Getting carried away, I took it one step further.

「ねえフィーネ、海ではね、“とらなきゃいけないポーズ”があるんだ。」
"Hey Fine, there's this pose you're supposed to do at the beach."

「ポーズ……？」
"A pose...?"

「うん。しゃがんで、少し足を開いて……それから、上の水着を外すんだ。」
"Yeah. You squat down a little, spread your legs a bit… and then take off your top."

「！？」
"!?"

「海の神様に敬意を払うポーズなんだ。
It's a pose to show respect to the sea god.

素肌を隠さずにさらけ出して、“ありのままの自分”を見せなきゃいけないんだよ。
You have to reveal your bare self—body and spirit—to truly present who you are.

海に来たら、まずはこの格好で神様に挨拶するのが習わしなんだ。」
It's tradition to greet the sea god like that when you first arrive at the beach."

──当たり前だが、もちろん全部ウソである。
—Needless to say, this was all a complete lie.

「そ、そうなんだ……君が言うなら、きっと本当なんだろうね……」
"I-I see... if you say so, then... I guess it must be true..."

フィーネは少し顔を赤くしながらも、僕の言葉を信じて頷いた。
Fine blushed slightly, but nodded, believing every word I said.

純粋で、心の綺麗な彼女は、僕が言うことをなんでも信じてしまう。
She’s so pure and kind that she believes anything I say.

その場しのぎの適当なウソでも、こんなふうに。
Even this spur-of-the-moment, ridiculous lie.

「……どんだけ心綺麗なんだよ……。純粋すぎて逆に心配になります……」
"How can someone be this pure...? It's almost worrying how innocent she is..."

「えっ、なにか言った？」
"Huh? Did you say something?"

「ううん、なんでもない！」
"Nope, nothing at all!"

「えっと、こ、こう……かな……？」
"U-Um, like... this...?"

恥ずかしがりながらも、言われたとおりにポーズをとってくれるフィーネ。
Blushing, Fine struck the pose just like I told her.

その姿に、僕の理性が試される。
My self-control was hanging by a thread.

「……あ、あとさ。着替えの水着も持ってきてたよね？
"Oh, and hey… didn’t you bring some extra swimsuits?"

２～３パターンは、神様にお披露目しなきゃいけないんだ。」
"You’re supposed to show at least two or three styles to the sea god, you know."

「う、うん……分かった……。じゃあ、着替えるね……」
"O-Okay… I understand… I’ll go change, then..."

──その後、空は晴れ渡り、僕とフィーネはたっぷりと海を堪能した。
—After that, under the clear blue sky, Fine and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at the sea.
