ATTN FUCKOS - ROADMAP AHEAD
Added 2020-01-03 00:53:29 +0000 UTC (A less eloquent version of this was posted on the youtube community page)
This is January the 2nd, 2020.
Today marks the Second day of a new decade and six months, five days away from "celebrating" 9 years on youtube. The years have been hard, and through each trial and tribulation, when I thought about quitting out of frustration, out of disappointment, out of bullshit and anger, the community has always picked me up.
I don't know how much to say this, so I'm going to speak as plainly as possible here. For those of you who have in the past known me to work obscene, excessive work hours on youtube (I once put out 120 hours a month in video, and that wasn't uncommon as a practice) in addition to my huge meatspace work schedule, I promise those days are at an end.
At the urging of my doctors, my friends, and my fanbase, I will hold myself to the promise I made months ago to slow down content creation. That is to say, I will not drive myself to make something every other day for people, I want to take my time with projects to preserve my health both mentally and physically for as long as I am able. Now, That boring shit said, here's what I'm getting into coming up.
1. The Next Tex Talks Battletech is gonna be a big 'un. What started as a simple shitpost about clanner elementals with a slight detour through their history of Genetic engineering has become, by my own interest and fan inquiry, a sprawling history covering from the Exodus of the Clans up to the Inner Sphere Invasion. Some didn't grasp the title "From Exodus to Elementals" for what it was. It's a primer on the clans, their culture, and what history they have. There will be some shit-talking. Just, expect that. I'm hoping for late January, possibly early February for this episode. Again, I'd rather do this right and with all the quality I can rather than pump it out and move on. I don't want to straight-up read a wiki article. You deserve more than that, and I'd hate myself for doing it. It would be shit to the lore, to the community, and to what I stand for.
2. Far Cry 5 with a cop will continue. That I promise. What was in the Christmas Dump was a test and people really seemed to enjoy it.
3. The streams I'm on, over at the courtesy flush will continue for those who want to see Mr. Tex Embarass himself in tabletop games. I've been enjoying those as part of this whole "Take time for myself" instead of "Make 100 hours of video a month". If you want to tune in, do so there. Mike, who runs the Courtesy Flush is the editor for Tex Talks battletech. I'm sure he'd love if you'd stop by and say hi.
That about sums it up for now. I'll leave this post up for a little bit so everyone has a chance to see. I'm very much pleased with the influx of people interested in Battletech, and it honors/humbles me that so many have had a chance to see and enjoy our projects. I know some people want more and want it now, in addition to wanting me to play MW5. I do not intend to compromise on the stance I have taken. I'm sorry, but I am not interested in supporting Epic at this time. Nor am I interested in buying a game that seems, in my opinion, incomplete. This is my opinion.
If this or any of the above cost me fans, or views, or clicks, or a following I'm fine with that. My Grandad taught me that it's better to do a damn good show you're proud of for 100 people, than a fucked up one for a million.
May this next year be fan-fuckin-tastic to all of us. Raise a toast to departed friends and to the new year we have.
That's all,
-Tex-

2020-01-03 02:30:12 +0000 UTCGood on you Tex for taking care of yourself. Your content has brought me hours of laughter and enjoyment, the pace will never bother me. You do you. On your content itself, the Courtesy Flush Star Trek game has nearly had me falling out of my chair laughing at times. That content is amazing! Mike is a great DM and all of the players are great as well. Looking forward to more of that. Tex Talks Battletech continues to be great stuff and has become my go to primer for introducing new people to the Battletech universe. Great work overall there! As for Epic and MW5? From what I have seen, you aren't missing much. Stick to your guns on it. A happy New Year to you and a toast to departed friends!

2020-01-03 01:11:41 +0000 UTCI really enjoy the Battletech videos and your Courtesy Flush exploits in Star Trek. I think the witty banter and complete dark if not "war crime" enabled individuals makes that enjoyable. I have learned more about Battletech now than when I played it back in the day. Laughed hard many times during the tabletop adventures of the USS Esses. MW5 is nothing special and EPIC game refused my refund so now it's a month-long battle to get my $50.00 back, I do not think you are missing anything at all.
