AN UPD00T

Update:  I can tell based on metrics that many of you are indeed home as I am. Worry not about Tex or the Editor as we are both well provisioned, safe, and absolutely ready to see this challenging situation through to the end. We're taking care of our people, and in doing so finding it easier to take care of ourselves. Now, that being said, let's discuss something actually fun.  

Content.  

As many of you will know (When Youtube lets me communicate that is, and doesn't disable notifications) I took a big step back from content creation for the sake of my own health at the screaming insistence of my Doctor, my friends, and family.  

In short, I was up at 430 every day for work, home at 7PM, and after that still managed to make 30 hours of content a week. It was unhealthy. So I throttled down.   

However, in this trying time as I am working from home (a nice bonus, if temporary), I put out a call to the legion as a whole. Many people were interested in trying at making content. Many more found they had nothing to do but try to wait for this whole situation to end and needed something to do. So, expect a lot of new and fun things in the coming days and weeks. Keep your eyes peeled, you may even see multiple videos in a day. I'm humbled by the support I have, and the sheer creativity my people have.  

Yes, we are working on Tex Talks Battletech. This episode is going to be F'n Huge.  Remember, we're all in this shit together. Let's get through this and have as much fun as we can considering the circumstances. This is a very good time to relearn what it means to entertain yourself and to bring peace to others. Some people have forgotten those skills in our current era of information overload. Many have dusted off ancient tomes of tabletop games or RPGs in order to show people how we old grognards used to get shit done. Now's the time for neckbeards to rise to the call.

Again, and I've said this a few times, I want everyone to know I fully expect you guys to look after your family and friends first. Always. I'm not going to be one of these begging channels that says you need to pay me during this crisis because I depend on this. I don't. I use the patreon to fuel other peoples skills (Editor, etc) and I dont rely on it in any financial dependency. You won't see me streaming and begging for cash, or trying my hardest to milk this situation for my benefit what with everyone home. I take pride in the fact I respect my fanbase that has brought such meaning and happiness to what I do, my life, sense of purpose and mental health. I won't take from you if you have need to see to your own aims - that's why theres no paywall in what I do. Everyone can enjoy what my team makes regardless of their ability to pay for it. I intend to keep doing shit this way. It won't make me wealthy, but it will keep me honest.

So, if you have need to pay your own bills and stop supporting - by god please do so. If you feel the urge to change your donation to me to go to another more charitable cause than making videos, by god, please do so.

See to your own needs first and foremost. I won't feel bad if you have to.
