1. Podcast will have a new episode on Friday, and every Friday thereafter for at least a few weeks. The Podcasts are when we feel like em, but we had a lot to say recently on the subject of Videogames and our opinions on them. So the next 4 (Four) podcasts are all about our experiences in video games - the good, the bad, and the ugly. Namely we drink a lot of caffeine and discuss the greatest and worst of video games, our favorites, and our least favorites. We also answer questions and user inquiries at some point. We originally intended to have a one-parter on videogames but it just kept spilling out and now its a giant ball of stuff. Our main picking points are - shit we enjoyed, the game hype factory, and what games still stick with us. So enjoy!
2. So, as many of you may recall we did intend to have daily content (and sometimes twice a day) for the duration of this uh, interesting-time we find ourselves in. Needless to say none of us ever figured it'd go on this far. Trying to see the greatness in these times or at least the potential greatness of human spirit in the face of this difficult time, I'm pleased to say that the call for content went well above and beyond. There were many legionnaires who wanted to try their hand at creating something fun. There were many legionnaires who wanted to try their hand at doing something creative, and good during their newfound indoor time rather than sit and wait and dread the day. A lot of this stuff is people trying to make things for the very first time, or the very first time sharing it with anyone else and god damn if it isn't really cool. Looks like daily content at this point will now enter month 3 I think, so daily shit continues. By August we're looking at spinning down back to reasonable numbers of content creation - that is to say "The plan" as I called it. Getting back to a healthy schedule for myself, as making/packaging all this at this rate is not really sustainable and really shows me how hard I used to work at this just to feed that manic energy. Don't worry, I'll get back to normal. You'll hold me accountable.
3. Writing continues on the Mackie Episode. As you well know I tend to take my time with that and I'm somewhat of a self-loathing writer. So I'll hammer out pages, come back and delete them or tear stuff up in my many drafts. I'm a nut in that way but it tends to work out in the end. What's interesting, at least I think, is that you guys want a good episode rather than an episode a month in terms of battletech and the public facing part of the site (youtube) demands an episode a week thinking it's uh....easy?
Which nothing really is easy, that is to say if its good.
Some people expect a shitload of work to happen instantly, but then again that's the culture of the time we live in. 10 minute shorts with minimal effort and, well, I think if I made that you guys would lynch me, and I'd hate what I created. And I'd probably stop. Would it feed the algorithm? Yes. Would it be successful? Yes, probably. But I'd be dead inside. The magic would be gone. And it would end all I loved doing. So, thank you guys for helping me do what I love.
4. Worthy Recommendation(s) - C&C Remastered is worth it. Absolutely, hands down, worth it. I was on the fence about it, I preordered it and awaited disappointment....and
They
Fuckin
Delivered.
Worth it. I'm not a game reviewer, but I can say this - Remastered soundtrack/new soundtrack stuff from the original soundtrack folks. New and old graphics. Lots of behind the scenes stuff. And most important, it tickles the nostalgia bug without pandering.
So, from a Grognard, know its worth it.
