Hey team! Not charging for this post 'cause it's outside of my usual schedule but I just had to be among the first people to try making a music video with the iPhone 7.
If you've been a patron for a while then you'll probably know the song, but for those who might not have it yet, "Know U" is from my 2015 album Cosmos which you can download here.
My buddy Ryan Skursky shot this with the phone mounted to a Ronin-M stabilizer so we could get nice smooth movement. We really pushed it in some low light conditions, shooting at sunset, sunrise, at night, and indoors with only one light. This led to some graininess, but for a phone I'm still impressed. We also experimented with all the different slow motion frame rates and I find all of them to be very useable, other than 240 - the highest - which forces a lower resolution, not to mention a bunch more grain.
I opted not to color grade, so you're seeing the clips exactly as they came off the phone. Technology is crazy!
