Sorry to have missed the past few weeks, the curveballs keep coming. So clout in being decent is something I've definitely seen in life. Some of the roughest crowds I've seen have backed down to an old mum who was just too cripplingly -decent- to everyone that when she scolded them they just...accepted it and stopped their shit. Its a real thing. I know how you mean about being awkward. Without some of the general anonymity of being behind a forum picture and the virtue of text I tend to be a bumbling mess. But if it helps, the couple of conversations I've had with you were very enjoyable. They went interesting places and I would definitely take joy in talking more. On the subject of forum pictures as a tangent into vtubers, I find it fascinating watching the vtuber community and some of the oddities of it. I've got the png and much of the assets to start doing the same, but...I share a lot of the sentiments you've been voicing about hustling and advertising to people, and studios like hololive and the like make my skin itch with discomfort. And in digging in to how to get started it fascinates me how much twitter gets pushed as necessary if you want to get anywhere. Everyone trying to offer an educational outlook on how to grow a channel and get followers preaches branching out into multiple social media outlets and harps on twitter and tiktok as -the- means to reach out and expand and I just don't see it. Twitter is just a mass of static more than anything. I dont know if Im missing something but your experiences just reinforce what I've been seeing as I try and peruse the site. Thank you for the update as always. And I know anime isnt really your thing, but I'll drop the quote anyways. Don't believe in yourself. Believe in us who believes in you! We're all here because we want to be, take it as it comes and we'll have your back as best as any of us can.

2022-06-16 11:00:35 +0000 UTCTex - as always, appreciating these posts and your thoughtful replies. Do you prefer a pour over brew to a press for your coffee? If you’re an espresso guy, do you have a home machine or do you look at things like an aeropress or that weird travel bike pump gadget? Hope you enjoyed some coffee questions, and I strongly recommend James Hoffman and MorganDrinksCoffee on YouTube for some really nice and comfy content.

2022-06-13 02:31:52 +0000 UTCKeep fighting. Take whatever chances you can get to do stuff you like. And then, keep fighting. And hey, you can be "non-profit" without being "not-for-profit!" George Carlin speculated that people made up the second term because they didn't want to make it sound like they just didn't know how to run a business.

2022-06-12 22:17:08 +0000 UTCWay late to the conversation, but I really enjoyed the long-form approach to the Warhammer video. The Baron lead-in reminded me of things my father used to talk about from his time in the Navy (and after joining the darkside, aka Raytheon). Project management, fleet maintenance and logistics were his things, and he complained about the procurement higher-ups, and the industry representatives selling never-ending boondogles constantly. Anyhow, looking forward to the next projects, whether BT or history.
2022-06-12 22:16:30 +0000 UTCMorning, evening, afternoon, I listened to the WBPL76 interview, a question of mine was asked (about the Person and Houses TTBT), and I heard a sigh. I want to apologize for bringing up that question, it was to try to get that question less. I know it sounds contradictive, but I hope it will be asked a lot less with more people knowing the answer. Just wondering on the Poetry. Do you have a favorite or is it just a "feeling appropriate" kind of thing. I read a tad bit of e.e. commings, Shel Silverstein in grade school, and fell in love with writing some in high school. looking back it was horrible. lol. Keep on keeping on! A.K.A Pistol6699

2022-06-12 22:11:51 +0000 UTCGlad for the weekly updates Tex. I think your style for presenting Battletech lore is infinitely better than most. Also I understand what you mean it is hard to find that place of contentment and joy. But remember while you find that place you have support even if it is a bunch of randos on the internet. I will be honest I have listened to your text talks over and over and am excited for the future episodes and for the IRL talk episodes. It has helped me find a place I can get away from the mindspace of the toxicity of my job and the world outside my house. I sometimes catch myself liking you to Grayson Carlyle of the Gray Death, and how you have always continue no matter how badly life kicks you. Keep going brother. On a lighter note I carry a P345 Ruger. And as a fellow fan of military history have you ever heard of the battle of Castle Itter in May of 1945, it is considered the last and strangest battle of WW2. A despirate last stand of a few Wermacht defectors, An American squad of GI's and a single sherman, a good hearted Waffen SS defector against a 150+ strong battalion of Waffen SS hardliners to save several French political prisoners in Austria. It is an epic tale that really happened. Well take care and till next time Tex. Glory to the BPL, Glory to the Free State of Van Zandt.

2022-06-11 15:37:25 +0000 UTCAlways a pleasure sir Tex, all hail the BPL! Question: I was listening to what you were talking about last week and it got me to thinking. A couple generations ago it was considered rude to talk politics or religion outside of certain circles and I wonder if it was better that way? I'm not naive enough to think that they didn't find other things to fight about but I wonder if politics and religion are more divisive than other topics because of the fact that they have the potential to be woven into everything as well as be foundational to an individual's world view. In summation I'm wondering if it would be better for society as a whole if we went back to not talking about religion and politics in polite company or should we leave things the way that they are? Thoughts?🤔

2022-06-11 13:04:51 +0000 UTC+1 on the 2 years for the big boy job. I was just over 2 years into my first human cigarette position when my wife walked out on me. If I'd been living even a little bit above my means at the time I'd have been royally fucked.

2022-06-11 12:04:37 +0000 UTCAhoy Tex, BPLe, and fellow Auxiliaries! Tex and other people in this community got me back into creative writing through Battletech and I'm very grateful! Question: I had a friend tell me that it would be unrealistic that Mechs would last for centuries. I laughed and said that's probably the most realistic thing and used the example of the M1911, USS Texas, and a lot of the USCG (my last cutter was around 40 years old and that was "young"). What are your thoughts on the longevity of major military equipment in spaaaace?
