A Weekly Update That's Under an Hour

AND OTHER STORIES TOO

Comments

Hey Tex. Hate to bug you with drama. But do you know what is happening with EBT, Everything Sci-Fi, Everything Battletech 2.0?

Hey Mr Tex hope you've had a better week.

Oli B

Hope the week has been better than when you recorded this update, Tex. Sorry to hear the world conspired to make it suck. This new normal is a weird one. Online socialization is definitely on the rise, but at the same time from what I've been seeing so is parasocial relations as more and more people cling to personalities that aren't necessarily interested or even capable of an actual interpersonal relationship. Ten minutes of boat sounds hilarious. I love poking at the grey hull fleet. I guess consider this a second to the Tex Talks Naval History request. And yeah, you're right. It's about making something. And yeah, you hit the nail on the head. It's building something. Relationships, stories, fun times. I kinda rambled a bit to get to that point I suppose. Keep hanging in there, Tex. Still rooting for you and the team, still looking forward to seeing what new madness is in the pipes!

Question: Is Paul Harrell the Bob Ross of guns? I’ve been watching him a lot lately and get a strong feeling that you, at least partly, patterned Tex Talks Battletech on his videos.

Tex! Two questions. 1. To your knowledge, would it be more grammatically correct to say, as a standalone phrase "Mundus Planeta Est" or "Mundus Est Planeta"? I'm hoping it's the former, I've already ordered shirts. 2. How effective would 16" HESH be in a naval engagement? I assume it would be better employed against fortifications, but I can't help thinking it would rattle a capital ship's armor reasonably well.

ketch me outside

I feel ya Tex. I relocated to another job that promised the moon. Massive salary boost, bonus, increased responsibility... Came in and helped get them on the right track, and they just "released me" to put their own guy in that I had been inadvertently training up for the role the whole time. I will land on my feet, but damn if it doesn't feel like a setback

Mr. Tex, odd one... You had mentioned wanting challenge coins, but with metal work being expensive... Have you considered resin 3D printed? A buddy of mine started doing this for comic cons (he does cosplay stuff), and with a metallic paint over, they look pretty amazing...

Listening to the most recent podcast got me thinking. In the world of tank knights I'd guess the most OP tank has to be a Matilda Scorpion or a Sherman Crab. A majority infantry army facing not just a tank, but one with huge a spinning flail on the front... It'd be like a meat tornado! On a related note, what would you see the life of the non-tankers in that world being like? I love stories set on the fringes, like tankers in BattleTech, or ground pounder of 40k, so just curious. Thanks for all the content, and sorry for the formatting, mobile sucks.

Listened to the most recent podcast, the one with dep and tank knights. I have a marvelous idea, so imagine if you will, an SF 40, a boat that is a nice platform for 4 Flak 36s. It’s blowing up tanks trying to cross canals and bridges, but as the tanks flee into the desert thinking they’re safe, the boat slowly gets closer to land and it has giant monster tank treads that extend past the boat bits. It then fights it’s way through the desert and mines and refines it’s own petrol, and escapes back to the sea. *old mysterious man voice* “The tales foretell of a great bastion, a safe haven of terrible power and destruction. A tank of both the desert and sea, that can harvest the petrol from the ground itself… the call it… THE GREAT LAND BOAT.”

Can I get the groups opinion on a rifle I NEVER plan to own. I saw a terrible video of a “Serbu RN-50” blow up on a YouTuber. The rifle has a screw on “breach” that goes on after the single bullet is loaded. Apparently, it was a very hot load, shearing off the threads, breaking other parts, and sent parts flying into the guy. He’s ok, but very lucky. He says it’s a freak accident, but I think it’s a bad design. I don’t think I’d want anything threaded as the main pressure point in a breach, especially with a .50! (I know massive guns have threaded breaches, but those are internal…and I assume that makes a difference) Hoping to pick the group’s collective brain on how safe this design is. Friend sent the video, not a fan of YouTube gun “experts.” Also, apologies for any misused terms. Video is a year old.

Hello, Howdy, Hi Recording in house can be a double edge sword. A good friend of mine works in radio, and has for years, he said foam and cardboard are your friends in a pinch... and a basement helps too... You probably know this already though, but in the off chance... Glad to hear you are at least trying to go on vacation, I hope you get to truly enjoy yourself. Do what makes you happy, stop to smell the roses and all that jaz. You do you! We'll do us... Get your game on go play! Jason... Pistol6699

Hope things are going better for you in the days since this update, I’d chip in for an anti train gun. Out of curiousity I know that you(rightly so in my opinion) moved away from warhammer 40k but what could games workshop do, if anything, to get you and people like you back, ps fuck games workshop
