Tex, Team. I don't have deep thoughts for you guys. I'm in a similar boat. I'm just... tired. I learned to play 40k at Gamer's Haven back in CO when you were allegedly kicking around approximately, after learning to play BattleTech at a slightly less friendly game store nearby I might well have met you. Not that it would matter one way or another, just establishing the shared environment of a great game store and community that's a long way from where I'm hanging out these days. You're a great guy. A lot of the folks at that store were great guys and gals. Things were different back then it seems. There was all manner of rascals kicking around, and some of them even found the time to shepherd along snot-nosed kids like my brother and me who wanted to learn about toy soldiers and giant stompy robots. If you keep making content, I'm here for the ride. Whatever that content is. I'm in for the ride. If you don't, then you've done a lot for a lot of people, and I'll appreciate that for a long time to come. My funding stops when you guys stop making stuff. My appreciation for your work... stops never. I'm not here to demand anything out of you, any of you. Not even to hedge my bets on joining the legion whenever y'all dig through the undoubted 8 billion applications you got and get around to me. I just think of myself as a cheerleader, that's what I'm here to do. I think of myself as supporting a great crew of folks who make cool stuff. That's all I'm in for. Nothing more. Nothing less. I don't care about your politics or your position. Nor should you care about mine. Hell or even know about mine. I wish our games weren't mainstream again. I miss the back room of one game store or another with fun people playing fun games and the only debate of any note was whether the guy playing fish of fury Tau was cheese or not. (It was.) If this were in a real lecture hall, I think we'd probably be in a far more interesting universe. Yes, perhaps, in another realm. But, I turned my back on academia. I walked away for numerous reasons, but, I found the pretending to care being kind of much for me. I just couldn't pretend.

Battletech 101 was the first video my patreon name was credited in, I loved the video! But then I Listened to the “Crossroad”, I don’t know what to feel, what can I say to a man who is pouring his raw heart and thoughts out. I didn’t know what to say after listening a week ago, I still don’t know what to say, even with the latest post, so forgive me if this is mess. I started watched your battletech videos in round before the “battle of tukayyid” video. I have only just jumped into be a patron not to long ago, not just because of battletech videos, I am enjoying others of you and the crew just screwing around. The fact you do a crap load of fundraising with the videos, was another factor I decide to support for a bit. If I can help keep it going even for just a bit longer even for a little bit, it can help someone helping others. Your teams’ videos reintroduced me to the Mechwarrior/Battetech series, showing me, it was larger than I knew. I enjoy them for informative and thought proving discussions and shitposts videos that they are. Even when you shited on favorite mech the Mad Cat, I know it’s shit but when you’re a about 5 to 7 years old, and you see the Mechwarrior 2 box art, it’s all you need, and it sticks with you. Yes, I didn’t know shit about the lore at the time, I just need big stompy robots that shot Missiles and lasers at that time. I have fond memories of MW2, even if the Clans are fucking crazy (consider myself a reform Clanner now, thank you for that). I just hope that you and your team can find some stable ground and continue doing what you love doing. I can feel the Love the team puts into the videos, and it shows. Look after yourselfs.

Tex, I feel I'm part of the silent majority here I don't comment often but love you, your team, and what you're doing. The Internet, and the open sharing of information is amazing, but the ability of trolls and shit talkers to override civil conversations is one of social media's largest detractors. If your presentations were actually held in lecture halls all of this would be a moot point. Because it would take more effort than just boredom and scrolling to attend the lecture only those who actually cared would be there, and because they wanted to hear what you had to say they would shut the hell up and let you talk. If anybody really didn't like what you had to say they would be out front picketing while we would be inside enjoying the lecture. But the joys of the Internet and social media allow the picket lines to be in the auditorium with the guest and anyone with nothing better to do can join in on the circus. So at the end of the day my heart goes out to you and your team. Stay safe, have as much fun as you can, and you do you boo. I'll try to stay in my lane and continue to give you what little support I can.

I have said my piece befor, but i will do it again now that things seem better. You and your team are the reason i got back into battletech, why i made that Locust 3D model 8 months ago you can see on my profile, the reason why i now spend 4 hours a day making 3D models for the battletech community. Im proud to be part of this community and proud to put the money given to me by my own patrons to you guys to use for your awesom content. I remember listening to the Amaris Kerensky Civil war and it inspiering to make models and to get back into battletech, and i hope to be able to keep listening to your content, be it battletech, or space station 13, or whatever videogame the BPL might be playing that month to find some solance and relaxation in listening to peopel i can connect with. Now all that emotional talk being said , i have a single question. Which is your least favourite periphery nation.

Thank you for the simple, direct, and eloquent message michael. I find that the world is difficult these days, and beset by folks keen on hurting others. I don't know what compels them to do so, but it is not my spirit, nor in the spirit of my team to conduct ourselves as such.

Not going to lie. Finally deciding to patronise directly beyond just what my normal youtube red sends, and seeing this ... gave me a spook. Whatever you and your team decided to do, I for one am glad to have been introduced to the setting by you all, and more so that I was able to introduce at least one other friend to the setting through you, though I'm sure just one more calling that out amongst the crowd doesn't really mean much, but it felt important to say. I have always been an outsider looking in. A filthy casual as some might jokingly say. I've never truly fit in anywhere, and still seeing what the internet has done to the few properties I enjoy is draining and disheartening. I cannot begin to imagine what it must feel like to be on the position of somebody who is actually involved in the community while these shifts toward fanaticism occur. Do as your consciences and health needs dictate, Tex and Co. You have my enduring respect no matter how things end out.
