Today is my Birthday, so I'm giving gifts.

Turns out I'm weird. I'm going to disappear for 10 days after this. I need to get out of the state to work somewhere different for a while as I said. New vistas. New horizons. New sky. Just for a while. Work continues as I said last update - worry not. I'll get to the previous week's questions when I return, in full.

This video was hard for me to make, and my team helped enormously. I tried a hundred times to cut my parts, as I suck at talking about myself. They refused. So there we go. Welcome to uncut Tex on the subject in question. Which is terrifying to me. So, uh, yeah. Here we go?

The charity this time around is pretty good. It's Active Minds. Its shit I wished was around when I was younger. Basically, it's an attempt to de-stigmatize mental health discussions so people actually have a fighting chance out there instead of covering stuff up or saying "well that sucks". Resources to young folks who are struggling are important, and their ratings on transparency rank at 96% out of 100, with leadership being rated 100/100.

The idea is to save lives, and I think it's a worthy attempt. So if you can support that, it's appreciated. If not, I understand and I ask you support something equally worthy to you, helping in ways you find important. That, is equally good to me.

Aw hell, I missed it! Happy belated, Tex!

Happy birthday even if it is late.

(By now belated) Happy Birthday, Tex. It seems my previous post disappeared - ahwel. In any case, very much enjoyed the video. Always had fun with mods, going back as far as editing Red Alert's .ini files. It kinda blew my mind when they started releasing actual editors, not just level editors, but like with the TES games and Unreal Editor even getting entire videos tutorials back in 2004. I wonder how many people got started because of that accessibility as well. Take care, and I hope the time away from home was enjoyable - even if it was just work but in another place.

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this episode. Thanks for producing it. Your team is phenomenal.

Depression and I are old acquaintances, and if it means anything at all when you're feeling extra shitty just know that you built a team that has spread joy to others. You've certainly made many of my days brighter - and for that I'm eteternally grateful. Also, I'm breaking out the good shit to toast to you for digging into context in Tex Talks History - I cannot tell you how warm that makes this cold black heart. Happy belated birthday you magnificent bastard. Thanks for sticking with us!

Tex, Watching the Whale Gun video now. I know I don't know you, but I can definitely relate to the persistent depression. As someone with dysthymia, I know the feeling of it never really being good, even when it should be. I am grateful for the small laughs in life, like those that you and yours provided my daughter and I during deep 'rona with "Star Track", and the little joy of watching a new Tex Talks. Thank you. Keep going, because the only thing worse than misery is letting the bastards win.

Great vid. I wholeheartedly agree about mods being a driving force behind game longevity. There are many, many games I wouldn't return to over and over if not for modding. Enjoy your change of scenery! Hopefully it's a refreshing time away.
