2023-01-03 21:40:27 +0000 UTCIf it's not been said clearly already, I motion you should do part 1 of Succession War 1 and then the Hunchback. If SW1 is going to be a multiple year long event, it should be easier to digest if it's broken down into smaller chunks. SHOULD.

2023-01-01 18:23:09 +0000 UTCAnything lung and fatigue related is terrible. Advice on staying active is best you can do. Used to work at a Steel Mill, where if you got hurt. They wanted you to try and be at work, on light duties because they believed it sped up healing. Plausible idea? Nah, sounds like international ownership that didnt care lol

2022-12-31 02:31:05 +0000 UTCGreat job with the Charger. Short and sweet. I've been watching your Admiral videos and listening to you dork out the way Sub Brief used to playing Cold Waters. It's fun and you have that knack of breaking both history and tactics down to where we laymen can understand it. You ARE TV 2.0 and YouTube can't do a thing to stop you!
2022-12-30 09:55:34 +0000 UTCMy nominee for the Worst Place To Be in WWII would be the New Guinea campaign. And yes, I know what went down on Kiska, Attu, and Attak. :-/

2022-12-30 04:01:32 +0000 UTCWe did get the first episode of Battletech 101, an overview of the Great Houses. I would love to see that continue.

2022-12-30 03:59:26 +0000 UTCYour work is absolutely top shelf, my man. Have no doubts about that, and thank you for all the hard work you do to entertain us for free/charity. <3

2022-12-30 03:58:05 +0000 UTCThank you for everything, Tex. You and your crew have given me years of entertainment that fits my interests like a glove. I'm glad to hear you are gradually getting better, even if it's taking a long time. Still, improvements are improvements, and that's encouraging. I'm sorry to hear about the water issue. I wouldn't bring it back up if something similar hadn't happened to one of my neighbors just yesterday. Due to a bunch of factors, her water was about to be cut off if she didn't make a payment by the end of that day - so of course, when she called them to make the payment, her phone refused to hold a charge. No big deal, I lent her mine. ...Only to find that her prepaid card wouldn't work. It had funds, but the system wouldn't take it. With no other option, I dug into the sock drawer, made the payment myself, and things were rolling again: with the payment confirmation number in hand, we called the county office and got the situation straightened out. When she realized what I was doing, she practically demanded I take the prepaid card, despite my protests: if her situation was as desperate as she described, there was every chance another disaster was headed her way, and she might need that card before long. But for the life of me, I couldn't convince her to keep it. That leads me to a question for you. Not so much for advice, more for your perspective: have you come across a diplomatic way to refuse reimbursement when you genuinely don't want it, or have you found it better to focus on your own side of the encounter and just stick to being gracious about it?

2022-12-29 12:58:23 +0000 UTCHello Tex glad your health is headed in the right direction. Charger was amazing and your team and you deserve the credit. I am bummed that the Kell Hounds or Wolf Dragoons were not ranked higher on the list (maybe a mercenary 101?) Hope the New Year is kind. And a proper question, are there plans for a xenonauts playthrough with the whale gun mod or is it something that only may happen in the future?

2022-12-29 12:04:52 +0000 UTCRegarding online history channels, have you ever watched Sabaton History? They make each episode about the the events behind a single song by Sabaton, so it's going to be a somewhat narrow lens by default. I feel like they do a good job nonetheless of making it both informative and entertaining, but I'm curious what you think if you have seen it. And the Charger episode was fucking great. I laughed, I cried, I learned that there is a Florida Man of BattleMechs. Congratulations to you all.

2022-12-29 01:06:48 +0000 UTCReally appreciate you Tex and all the effort you and the team give in everything you do it shows and inspires myself to keep going and make better BattleTech RPG modules and experiences for my players and all those who decide to grace me with there time and I will keep it up and keep making the stuff I care about.
2022-12-29 00:47:59 +0000 UTCMan why do you gotta call me out like that, Tex? With my desk that is a graveyard of unfinished projects and aspirations? All joking aside that comment cut deep, though I dont mean that as a bad thing. You're very right about how leaving something unfinished hurts more than never starting to begin with. Charger was definitely an excellent production, kudos to the whole team for the quality product! And very much I appreciate that you made a series of points that dont ever really manifest outside of campaign play or the lore about what makes a charger actually useful versus just being an easy way to throw away 900-1000BV for no gain. Makes me wish the campaign I'm in was more than just a series of pick up games with extra book keeping. Looking forward to more of the same in TTH, especially knowing its something you're professionally qualified in beyond just being a passionate hobbyist. Your talk on the updates about the critical need for context and a wider lens had me thinking after a chance encounter at the bar the other day. I don't know how much the name Goetz von Berlichingen will ring a bell, but conversation about how resilient the human body is turned to talking about his story, being a mercenary who lost his arm early in his career in the 1500s and still went on to kick ass across decades more with a prosthetic well enough made to be able to grip a pen and write. He's a good example of history being narrowed to just a single person, which is why it was fascinating to strike up a chat with a stranger and start discussing the wider context about what was going on in the world at the time, touching on other events and the protestant reformation and how without any of that he would have just been a dude with a sword. History is just too damn deep and interesting to -just- let it be heroes and legends. Theres always stories behind the stories that are just as important and just as wild if you take the time to start asking questions. So I cannot wait to see what you unearth when the video comes out. Speaking of Goetz... Has anyone ever drawn the parallels between him and the character that is Randolph P Checkers? Correct me if I'm wrong but RPC is a mercenary originally from the heavily germanic Lyran Commonwealth, lost his arm but didnt let it stop him in his warfighting career after getting a prosthetic replacement, and has taken to scholarship on the trailing end of a violent and storied history on the battlefield...which smacks very much of the cliffs notes of the aforementioned old german mercenary of yore...are the parallels ones done intentionally, or is it an odd but fun coincidence? Glad to hear you're recovering, even if it is slow. As always, best wishes for your health and much respect to you and the team.

2022-12-28 21:24:47 +0000 UTCNow I have to start guessing what the third Capellan mechs you'd touch with anything besides an LRM volley is, but to make it manageable I'll only do one guess per week. For this first guess and the meme value I'll say a UM-R63, cause the only thing better than a trashcan with legs is duck taping a shotgun to it. Now for a question, what's your favorite forgotten theater of a war. For me it has to be the Aleutian Islands in WWII. Although that's mostly cause a family member was involved in them and after an injury was treated at the naval hospital I currently work at. Anyways keep up the strong work, and no matter how many times you tell me not to I'll keep supporting as much as I can. You're cheaper and more entertaining what Netflix at this point.
